Hiromichi Tanaka, producer

Hiromichi Tanaka, senior vice president of Software Development at Square Enix, is the producer of FFXIV. He is also the producer of FFXI, which earned him the nickname, Tanaka P. Born Jan. 7, 1962, Tanaka oversees development on any new online games that Square Enix is involved in. He also led the development of the Nintendo DS version of Final Fantasy III, having worked in a senior role on the original version of the game in 1990. In 1983, Tanaka dropped out of Yokohama National University along with Hironobu Sakaguchi to join Square, which, at the time, was a newly formed branch of the Denyuusha Electric Company. Along with Sakaguchi and Kazuhiko Aoki, Tanaka was part of Square's original Planning and Development Department.

Nobuaki Komoto, director

Nobuaki Komoto, the director of FFXIV, previously directed the Chains of Promathia expansion for Final Fantasy XI. The Chains of Promathia missions are widely regarded as the most challenging of FFXI, and many people praised the expansion's rich storyline as well. Komoto started working with Square Enix in 1998 as an event planner for Xenogears. He also contributed to Chocobo's Dungeon 2.

Akihiko Yoshida, art director

Akihiko Yoshida, the art director for Final Fantasy XIV, was involved with character design in the 1997 and 2007 Final Fantasy Tactics titles, the remake of Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy XII. He joined the company in 1995 and has worked mainly in designing characters and backgrounds. He has also worked on games such as Zeliard (1990), Ogre Battle (1993), Vagrant Story (2000) and Wild Card (2000).

Nobuo Uematsu, composer

Nobuo Uematsu, one of the video game industry's most famous composers, has arranged musical scores for many games of the Final Fantasy series. He continues to work through his production company, Smile Please, which Uematsu founded after two decades of working for Square Enix (he started when the company was still called Square). In addition to producing music for dozens of games, Uematsu started a well-known band called "The Black Mages" that plays a rock-style arrangement of his scores. His soundtracks have been performed by bands and symphonies in concerts around the world.

Yoshitaka Amano, artist

Yoshitaka Amano and his beautiful designs have been with the Final Fantasy series since its beginnings in 1987. Throughout the years, Amano has sketched a myriad of artistic pieces, including characters, monsters and title logos. Amano also designed the eye-catching title logo for Final Fantasy XIV.
