When you kill Assault Captain Phezzryn for Sever the Head, look for a shiny marked griffon reins. Collect it to receive this quest.

Use the reins to ride "a captured griffon" to turn in Sever the Head. The captured griffon should be right there in the same cavern (at 472.07, 174.59, -124.01 ).

Speak to the Griffon Trainer when you land to complete this quest, along with a Winged Horn that will summon a limited pet, the Griffon Defender.
