In the Beta this quest type was often called Christmas, as in, getting a present you were not expecting, but the live name is Exploration.

Exploration Quests are quests that reward a player for exploring the game world off the beaten path. A general form is coming across an object (such as an oddly carved obelisk or a dying NPC) and through interacting with the object you gain some reward.
