ok so at this point we know these pics are fraudulent. but does anyone know where we can find legitimate info? like races and jobs? and the one thing that ffxi kills the competition with, the ability to change jobs at any given time.

this was all researched by me.. this morning to disprove this as SE's new MMO... just a sequal to 12 it seems.. and if you do notice guys that the crystal tools logo appears in the lower left of the screen shots...

I'll remind you all again SE has made a point, "So long as players want to keep playing FFxi we will keep making content for the game." This means they don't have any plans to stop survice for the game, even if they release a new MMO. So don't get your panties in a bunch, they still plan on making content for the game.

I was thinking about the topic, and I came to 2 conclusions last night while driving home from work:

1.) If this is a April Fools joke, it's just so cruel.

and...

2.) If this were to be real, it'd be oh so damned cruel. I maybe 2+ years into FFXI, but even if this game were to come out in the next 2 years I don't think I'd be done with FFXI by then. ><

i dont understand this because wikik has a post about this aswell but the fine print isnt copyrighted and it says something about april fools if anyone knows the real story behind this plz do tell because SE's not stupid enough to go close a game like FF11 when they released a new exspansion just 3 months ago
new people are still coming daily it wouldnt make any sence to shut down ff11

I duno i was expecing more from the next MMO, I'd imaging it yknow NEXT GEN? This almost looks like a fake bunch of pics.

1- Exact same chocobo models as FFXI, what the heck?
2- the mog just looks to me like a BLM taru with ears stitched on.
3- The viera is wearing something that i'm sure ive seen people wear in game just retextured, and seems to me like a mithra with patched on ears and modified hair.
4- the terrain looks as low quality as FFXI, with obvious texture stretching and very low res geometry.
5- The tree trunks are as horribly low res as the ones in FFXI jut a new texture for the leaf part, which is also inexcusably low res for a next gen game...

I duno, even FF12 looks better than what i'm seeing here. This is either a very tricky hoax, or an early prototype that's reusing FFXI assets as temporary (i hope) stand-ins to be replace by something, yknow, next gen. If this is how it'll look in the end then... wow SE, fail.... so fail.

Anyway thats just how i'm seeing it. Keep in mind i'm currently working on my 2nd big ticket next gen game so i know cheap when i see it. Also, FFXI clone, not interested.

6- Final nail in the coffin. Looking closer at the chocobo's feet, i see the shadows are a very soft raytraced look. The shadow cast by the raised foot is softer than the one near the ground, which is still not doable even next gen. Now i think this is something someone put togetheri n max/maya and rendered out to try and make it next gen.

APRIL FOOLS MUCH?

The timing is WAY too convenient guys.... I think alla got us this year rofl. Well, if it is true and not April Fools, it looks like it'll be in Ivalice, just like tactics and XII. The chocobo models look very much like FFXIs, which makes me think this is a doctored up hoax lol

that last screen shot looks like that char is wearing something like marduk body. The textures look a lot like it. cool though.
