Phugly (Felix) is arguably the best writer that has posted fiction to Allkhazam. The only one who comes close is GrumpyWookie...who also writes true life stuff that is ROFL-icious.

For some reason, the POL web site doesn't seem to offer a way to browse really-old patch messages. But it does house them. I dug some up with Google, and found some interesting info hidden in them. Some of these are things that people argue about today, some are just plain unknown.
