The latest installment of the Runes of Magic audio podcast, RoMCast, is now available. Join Swag as he hosts an in-depth discussion of the Warrior class as well as covering the adjustment to Siege War time and answering fan submitted mail!

The latest content patch, 3.0.DTOID, is on its way to Runes of Magic. In an effort to reduce the overwhelming amount of customization options available to players, starting April 1, RoM will be permanently changing every player, NPC, Mount, and Mob’s facial features to more resemble Mr. Destructoid.

The closed beta for Runes of Magic: Chapter IV – Lands of Despair kicks off on April 6 and runs until April 29. Do you want a chance to participate in the testing event? Frogster is currently asking interested players to submit a short paragraph explaining why they should be chosen for the Chapter IV beta. You have until April 1 at 11:59 a.m. PST to send in your entry, so start writing!

Runes of Magic is celebrating its 2-year anniversary this month will all sorts of in-game events and contests. The festivities kick off today, and here are the highlights:

  • Accept a daily quest to rid the frog plague from the lands of Taborea.
  • Log in once a day until March 20 to receive a Birthday Gasha. These Gashas may be hiding a Permanent Snow Ferret Mount.
  • Retweet the anniversary message on the Runes of Magic Twitter page for a chance to win a fiery pair of Wings of the Flaming Inferno.

Look out FarmVille! Another game will soon be making its way to Facebook, and it's one that should be familiar with many MMO players. Frogster announced today that it has teamed up with Kalydo to develop a version of Runes of Magic that can be played in a browser or Facebook without a client download. The launch is scheduled for the second quarter of 2011.

According to a press release, the initial focus of the partnership will be Facebook integration. Facebook users will be able to dive into the game without completing any additional registration procedures. The social networking version of Runes of Magic can be played in either full screen or windowed mode without limiting any of the game’s functionality. Check out the screenshot after the jump to see what it will be like to play the fantasy MMO through Facebook.

Frogster announced today that Runes of Magic Chapter IV: Lands of Despair will enter closed beta in early April. The update will boost the level cap to 70 and introduce the Land of Malevolence, which is intended for adventurers at level 62 or higher. The mountains also hide Lord Grafu’s Castle, the first of the new instances.

It's springtime in Taborea! The latest Runes of Magic patch is now live and with it comes the Flower Festival. Players can receive the Flower God’s Blessing, plant magical roses, eat delicious Flower Festival Pie and obtain the Lily of Love! There will also be lots of bonus rewards to earn.

Frogster has released the fifth episode of RoMCast, the official podcast of Runes of Magic. The series is hosted by Swag, the community manager at Frogster America. Here are the details:

Looking for eternal glory? Want to showcase your guild's amazing ability to down bosses? Runes of Magic is giving you the chance with the Boss Rush video contest. All you have to do is record video footage of your guild fighting any instance boss or world boss in the game. Then, upload the footage to YouTube and send the URL of the video to cmswag@gmail.com. Frogster America will pick the five best videos, which will be featured on a flat-screen TV at GDC 2011 in San Francisco.

All entries must be received by Feb. 28. Guilds eligible to win first place must play on North American servers.
