I think the continuum involved in this question is too great for me to be able to choose an answer. Even if I chose, say, "4," what would that look like? What is halfway between "nothing" and "Armageddon?" o_O

Good call, no option 0. A rare poll-making oversight from our resident Poll Master.

I think that for people in Japan you will have honest responses ranging from 1 to 7. Some people have been only indirectly affected. For at least 6000 people, it has literally been the end of the world.

I voted "4", only because I'm living here. Watching the Japanese news, although the areas affected and the power situation are bad...it's not the end of the world and we will get through it.

However, some of my friends have stated they are more scared of CNN and BBC and their coverage of the disaster. They say those news channels are making the issue worse than it really is.

There's no option 0 because 0 = absolutely nothing wrong and regardless of your interpretation, 0 is an incorrect answer. Anyone voting for 0 would either be a joke vote or an idiot.

The question is a little bit vague. It's possible that the people who voted very low numbers might have thought you were asking about the servers being down, and not a national natural disaster!
