Bummer.
The early levels are boring. But being a tank or Healer and doing Random Dungeons, you fly in levels and really get to learn you role.

You should try SWTOR now. It's better because it has lightsabers.

^ this as well.
To tell the truth I was playing FFXI and knew I had about 4 days until I had to add funds. I bought SWTOR on the 26th of Dec, played all day on the 27th and managed to get to the 1st instance I could do that evening. After doing that I realized I really enjoyed what just happened (wipes, winning, gear, being "part" of the options for the story flow) and said goodbye to FFXI again.

Been having a blast in SWTOR because it is new. It doesn't really feel like WoW (it shares stuff, but any game with Hotkeys and Quest = EXP/rewards in a small way will), it feels..more epic.

I'm a dark/fallen Jedi!

I've got a mostly good Sith warrior who is helpful but rewards failure with death, a bounty hunter whose loyalty is always to her initial client, but has a soft spot for kids, and an inquisitor who is pretty much pure evil.

eh, I am a hunter, so not a tank or a healer. I didn't want to play tank or healer just to get to max level on a job I don't actually want to play

:P

You'd fly by levels as whatever, really. Dungeons are a nice boost, but questing will get you there quite quick as well.

Edit: Assuming you were responding to Sandinmygum's comment there.

Wow, you've got an awesome writing style.! I really dig the narrator's back story, humor, sarcasm, and the plethora of pop culture references. Altogether a refreshingly different RotR journal (not that I don't like the more traditional ones, mind you).

yeah. I guess wow was just feeling like a single player game. ehhh. I might try to play a bit more but I don't get that "man I can't wait to get home and play" feeling that I used to get from XI

well with the ability to have 2 specs (yea I don't remember what level you can get that, 40?) You can play DPS but on the right class you could also be Tank/Heals. But f you didn't make it up to lv15, then you probably didn't get an exp with the grouping part of WoW. WoW is a solo game, I think that is what drew so many to it (and still does, and even "wow clones").

FFXI is on the other side of the spectrum in the solo/grouping need. You have to learn to work together or else missions and boss fights will fail, something you don't have to worry about in WoW until end game if you wanted to (because you don't have to do the dungeons in WoW).

I think what made me stick with WoW for 3years was liking the WC3 story and wanting to continue it.

We'd be happy to. (well, Lox and Nav are vehemently against bsts, but they'd help with brd! And I'd help with whatever.) Just don't do what some people have done and log on just to beg for help and quit if everyone is busy. That tends to piss people off. Come to stuff that other people are doing then throw in a suggestion to farm seals after that's over with. Several people still need stuff, they'll help when they can.

I can't tell if this is supposed to be a threat, innuendo, or a pun.
