Things you hate to hear in the Dunes/Qufim...Follow

-I didn't bring any ranged attack, but I can charm goblins. (all of us are lvl 9-10)

-Don't worry, we have a PL here so two plds are okay to have in a pt...

-once everyone is lvl 14, lets go take on some pugs!

-Should I get another whm or another tank?

-A rank 9 drk was pulling with poison in a pt. everything was going smoothly until the drk ran out of mp. after a nice chain 5, everyone is happy about the xp. So the drk, seeing that the whm needs mp, pops a squat as well. the Rank 2 whm seeing this, says:

Whm: Why is the drk resting?
Drk: I need mp to keep pulling.
Whm: But aren't you a DD?
Drk: Yes, I am.
Whm: DDs aren't suppose to rest. They have to stay up and keep thier TP.
Drk: My TP is at 0%. Not much to keep. besides, I need the mp to pull.
Whm: But your a DD. DDs don't need to rest. They should just fight.
War: Shut up and let him rest for the next pull.
Drk: Kid, i've been thru the dunes more times than I want to remember. I think I know what i'm doing.
Whm: But as a DD, you shouldn't rest, cus you do all the damage and have to stay up.
Drk: (realizes he's not drunk enough to handle this situation) See you again! /disband
Whm: Waa? why is he leaving?

From the level 17 Warrior: "What's tank?"
/em wails in dispair.

And not exactly a "hate to hear" but "hate to see". Your whm gets invited to a party and the first two fights go ok, but you notice you're hitting that cure II WAY too much. So you /check the tank.. and find level 1-7 gear at level 17.

Also: "What's voke?" "What's provoke?" "What's macro?" "I'm only getting 120exp per kill!" and the dreaded "<blm> begins casting poison on Thread Leech".

Edit: "But if I provoke the mob will attack me!" and "Cure!" about six times while the whm is dead because he took so long to provoke.

4. Lastly "(Excuse me.) (Party) (Qufim Island) (Do you need it?)"

I don't see anything wrong with suggesting alternative areas to level in. I mean, let's face it, the Dunes are crowded to the point of ridiculousness, yet people continue to go to the same camps with 4-5 different parties already camping on top of one another and basically ruining any potential exp chains. I mean, sure, it's the best place to exp early on, but only if there's not too many parties there already. So yeah, the next time someone suggests Korolokka Tunnel and everybody is 15-16, don't knock it--just go. It's an awesome spot.

The things that bother me the most in the early levels are:

- People who need power-levels (all this does is show how incompetant they are now, and how much worse they'll be later on when some skill they should have mastered in the Dunes/Qufim is needed further down the line, such as healing skill or tanking skill)
- People who insist on fighting only IT+ mobs (they think a two-minute battle for 200exp and then a long rest period afterwards is better than three 40-second battles for 100 exp each, and I can't understand why)
- People who don't understand how Ninja tanks work (this is actually split into two groups. The first group are the non-Ninjas, who don't realize that a Ninja without shadows needs an off-tank to take the mob for a few seconds while they recast Utsusemi before resuming tanking. This is especially important while Utsusemi is on cooldown. The second group are the Ninjas themselves, who don't realize that they need an off-tank while recasting Utsusemi to avoid getting hit, which interrupts their casting and makes them take more damage than necessary. These Ninjas think they're as tough as Paladins, and they voke continuously, even though they used up all their shadows and the intelligent warrior only voked so they could recast Utsusemi unhindered.)
- Black Mages who nuke the sh*t out of everything (Everyone's encountered these dumb @#%^s. They cast their biggest, most powerful nukes at the start of every fight in rapid succession, refusing to pace themselves and blaming the tank when they inevitably gain aggro and die. This also applies to rangers, who suffer from the same problem.)
- People with /say or /emote in their macros (I had a Ninja tank who fit the description above who had "Provokes the idiot." as a /say command in his Provoke macro. That's right; he used /say, not /emote, to describe an action. And he annoyed the sh*t out of everybody around him with it. I wanted to cry.)

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I don't kno where I find ppl like this, but I'll be damned I get the worst pts sometimes

If you read the first part of the post I was helping someone to the dunes.

A lvl 10 thf with no side job or anything. I was just nice enough to say I would take himn after 20 min of his begging to go to the dunes then he said he wanted to go to the palb. mines.

I'll be the first to say go to korr. tunnel for exp. Just don't forget you can't get there unless you have rank 3.

looking back on this little experience, i begin to think 'what the hell was wrong with that whm? what made them think theyd be wanted in the pt after THAT? who would be fine letting everyone die but themselves?' ...it raises alot of questions. sure, bene has a giant hate spike...she would have died...but COME ON! lol oh well, was funny to watch at least.

I figure people must hate to hear this stuff, because I get complaints whenever I say any of them. :P

Don't get me started...the whm didn't like to rest because she didn't like being on her knees.

There was a party camped on top of us, but they got wiped...I had to laugh, I know it's wrong but it was funny.

It was a typical dunes party...half our members didn't have a subjob, ninjas are trying to save TP to SC, but we have to /heal because the Whm was out of mp....But...I got to 15 and that's what counts :p

This one really didn't bother me too much, but I just thought it was funny...

Pting at lvl 25 I'm doing my best to keep hate from 2 rngs. all was well til one of the rngs (rng/war) was burning all of his arrows and pulling hate like a mad man. I could always get hate back after a few secs, but it was just annoying that no one was pacing themselves. So after a few fights of this I decide to say something:

Pld (me): Hey...you guys mind pacing yourselves a bit? It's a bit hard to hold hate when two rngs are going ape sh*t.

Rng1: Well, the thought crossed my mind, but then it went away.

Rng2: Why are you worried about keeping hate anyhow? We aren't complaining.

Pld: Well I know no one is complaining, but it's kinda a personal thing. I like to keep hate cus it's my job.

Rng1: I'm sorry man, I've been a mage most of the time I play and this is the 1st time I've actually done decent damage.

Pld: (Remembers the refresh cycles from his last manaburn pt as rdm and shivers) Okay, you win. Keep firing.

I made the mistake of going through the dunes without /anon up, as SMN33/WHM16.

I paused, dumbstruck. Then I hit him back with a request for 1M gil if I PLed him, then immediately followed up with (exact words again) "In other words, forget it buddy".

That'll teach me to go through there as SMN, I guess.

Someone asked me to PL for 3k once. When I responded I'm sorry it's not worth my time he said hold on I'll ask if party is willing to chip in..... He messaged back ok 5k!!! ........
