ok this is one of my first massive-multiplayer games i have played and i loved it since i've opened it from the box and i still do. But i am having one really really big probelm with this game PARTYS!!. Currently i have my samurai at lvl 41 and i finally got to complete my first artifact quest. Now i love playing as a samurai but it takes me 5-6 hours just to get one invite for a party. Now many of you are gonna suggest to start mine own but i can't start it if the classes that are needed are not there. It seems like the only way to get a fast invite (1-2hours would be a fast invite to me) is to play black mage, red mage, white mage, and bard. Now i was a white mage and i did love it but i don't wanna give up samurai a class i have been working hard on. Well anyways if you higher level guys have any advice or if it gets better later on please let me know. I'm gonna give it till November (i'm hoping CoP will fix this with the EU release) if its not better by then i will just find another game to play.

Maybe you can get a static started for your SAM with the people from this board. ^^

Selba,

Static parties seem to be the way to go post-40 or so. This was a big part of the reason I left Gilgamesh... the group I belonged to were very quickly advancing and I was working a night job at the time and unable to keep up with them... dragoons don't get many invites, either. I suspect the same is true of warriors and monks. Damage dealers tend to be thought of strictly as black mages and dark knights. Getting the peregrine was cool though... too bad I was never experienced enough to use it.

This time around, though, I'm doing a lot of things I never did while I was on Gilgamesh. I never got most of the extended jobs there (just DRG, DRK, and SAM), I had very low fame in most of the cities. I brought my warrior to 30, not white mage... so being a healer was a totally new experience for me. I made San d'Oria my home, not Bastok. And I got involved with a group that enjoys roleplaying and having fun rather than constantly trying to one-up each other. I think that's the biggest perk.

But I digress...
I would look for a static party. I hope to be able to do the same thing myself this time around when I get my dragoon past 30-40. If you need advice on higher-level Samurai tactics, my friend (here and RL) Hektor had a 70+ Samurai on Carbuncle. He may have some words of wisdom to share...

How soon can you hit 45-46?

My static went the way of the dinosaurs, but I am looking to rebuild it...and a SAM would be greatly advantageous ^^

The *projected* setup would be:

PLD/WAR - can get
BLM/WHM - me
WAR/??? - currently at 43, waiting for him to catch up
THF/??? - also currently at 43, waiting for her to catch up
___/___
___/___

If we can fill in the blanks with two good players than we would be set, and it would be nice to have you in one of these spots :)

Yea lvling up sometimes especially now that people have started school is hard. It does take patience but I know what you are going through. I had the same problem with my blm believe or not lol. I was a lvl 42 blm and I spent a whole day looking for a pt and got nothing. Next day I spent 4 hrs waiting for a pt I get an invite go to crawlers nest and then the party disbands a few mins later gaining 186 exp only. Now whenever I use my blm to do a quest I always seem to get an invite for some weird reason lol.

What I suggest is just going to your mog house and wait for an invite do something recreational like read a book or watch some tv do homework if your a student or nothing that is fun for you. Fridays and weekends are the best times to party since people actually play the game but I know you might want to do something else during those days.

Sams are a nice job I'm always looking for a SAM in my pts its just sometimes you have to wait unfortunately. Just stay playing and if you want to quit just cancel your account for a few days take a break come back and you'll get addicted to it again just like the rest of us lol.

I highly recommend finding a static party to join. I hate to say it, but as Samurai, it becomes increasingly harder to find parties (friend of mine is at 66, he regrets taking it that high).

If you dislike waiting for parties, you can always play BST. ^^ But keep in mind though, BST parties of two-three people get great Exp, so you never completely rule out the possibility of partying. :X

Ok about the static partying i can't static party because of my schedule i have for work plus not only that but every 4 months we change out shifts (0700-1600, 1500-2300, 2300-0800) so i really can stay with one for long if i decide to try to get into one ><. And i don't wanna do beastmaster i wanna be a samurai!!!
