You didn't set your comment right in *dynamis-buburimu.

black mage
summoner

doesn't count as a comment. We have no idea what accessory or -1 or NQ armor you want.

Black mage belt drops and then you ninja lot it in the last 10 seconds before it drops. You lose the lot and I made damn well sure you got d2'ed before you took anything else.

so you get *NOTHING*! You lose! Good day, sir!

P.S. Your name is Skyebaby, not skyedragon. Don't change your name to "protect" your reputation.

If this is the case, why don't you ask the leader first before you lot. Nothing about this makes sense. Don't lot the belt and then ask. You're just asking for trouble.

Sounds to me like LS leaders don't pay attention enough and compensate by kicking who they feel like for their own profit. Could have easily been solved by saying, "hey what blm and smn pieces are you lotting?

Sounds like a fail and corrupt dyna shell to me.

asking the leader and not getting a response doesn't allow you to lot anything. You need to get a response first.

To put it in perspective, do you think asking the leader before shadow mantle drops, not getting a response, and lotting it condones you for lotting it the last 5 seconds before it drops? Your reasoning is flawed, good sir.

In any case, Namakemono told you your comment was set wrong and that you weren't able to lot anything, all before you ninja-lotted the blm belt.

P.S. Don't tell me I can't read when your english when its hard enough reading what you're saying.

I guess you "misunderstood" when Namakemono clearly told you in linkshell that you couldn't lot blm and smn.

Once you start speaking (and reading) english and stop ninja-lotting, maybe some linkshell will invite you to do dynamis.

You said noone told you how listing your jobs run, and also that this isnt your first run with them. Does this LS have a forum that explains the rules?

Its the responisibilty of the member to understand the rules before even applying to the LS imo. Why would you join someone before understanding how they work?

And noone ever lots 10 seconds before it drops from a misunderstanding, thats intentional.

Even though I'm never online anymore to attend, I've been in FullWipe for over 2 years now. In that time, I've never once seen them be unfair. I've even seen them let people go into negative points for an item.

If you have the points, and you have your comment set right, you can lot. Thats all there is to it. Either you didn't have enough points, in which case you should have only had {Synthesis Materials} in your comment, or you had your comment messed up and Nama didn't know what you really wanted to lot.

And yes, it's clearly posted on the website how you should make your comments. If you didn't understand how to write your comment, talking to a leader for 15 seconds would remedy that....

Given the sordid history of the some of the people involved in this conversation, I'm inclined to give Vysey the benefit of the doubt here. I don't know any Dynamis linkshell that will allow a brand new member to lot CoP items on the first run.

Eh, IMO it is just as much skye's fault as it is an entire shell not being polite.

Just have to assume a few things here, and I know...we all know what assumptions mean. <.<

1.) Skye's fault, because clearly she didn't care enough about being able to obtain the gear to make sure she understood how to comment said gear properly. This is the reason LS have forums, ya know. Same reason products get shipped with manuals, same reason hair dryers come with huge as labels telling you not to stick the electric device in water, or not to stick your tounge to any part of said device, or other such idiocy-protection labels. Or the sign on McDonalds telling you the coffee is HOT and to take caution, because steam rising and the employee wrapping the cup in 3 napkins to barely hold onto it isn't easy enough to understand ITS @#%^ING HOT.

2.) Let me ask you this question, from one dynamis vet to others. How many of you check the linkshell list to see who else is in competition with you for the evening(in shells that use search comments occasionally or full time)? I don't know about you all, but even though I'm not a leader I was always checking search comments just to be curious. I'm going to assume here that in this linkshell, there are also members, non-leader members, who scan the competition out. Specially in a CoP zone. I'm getting to the point here.

Aside from a leader telling skye that her comment needed correction, why did none of the LS members send a tell or /p and ask if skye needed help setting up her comment, or figuring out if she needed help figuring out if she was even ELIGABLE to lot on anything? Furthermore, why did a leader not attempt to make a more thorough attempt via /tell? Even furthermore still, why did Skye not pay attention to /L which is where said leader warned of her incorrect search comment? I just find it hard to believe no one in the LS is to blame here, even if it is just a fraction of the blame. Evil(bad situations) thrives when good men do nothing.

3.) Third assumption. Mostly comes from #2's assumption. This LS has communication issues or people were all ready discriminating against Skye prior to this incedent in some way, enough to where no one would step forward to assist in correcting her search comment.

4.) Seems like the blame could be (skye)60/40(ls) here. Dyna shell vs. Skye. Skye, you failed by doing the one thing that is the most common plauge of all dynamis members: cruise control, mind is gone, little focus. This is most likely the reason you missed the /l message from a leader telling you your comment was wrong. Dyna shell, you failed by not taking the extra step to protect yourselves from item thievery/misunderstanding(s) and ensure a conflict won't happen. Somewhere down the line, both parties made some assumptions instead of talking things out and decided there was no other possible explination or way to handle the situation.

Seems to me like a simple apology and second chance with a little more trust and understanding is needed here. WHERE'S THE LOVE PEOPLE!? Don't make me have to get on BST just so I can shoot pink hearts of love from my crotch wearing a white subligar...

OH edit. Food for thought. What would it have taken to solve this issue in the first place? All it would have taken is a single person with a little care for a fellow LS member, to help sort out the search comment. What if Skye pretended to ignore them, or didn't listen to them, you ask? What if skye still ninja lotted on the item anyway, you ask? Well, you'd have a lot more umph behind the arguement that the LS is in no way at fault here for one thing. You'd also have an instance where an LS actually showed care for another person, enough to think about their well being and goals(such as getting new gear!). That'd definitely get you on the higher moral ground, which is almost always the deciding factor in any social disagreements in a peer-judged situation. Seeing as FFXI is all peer-based interaction, your moral position is definitely something you want to think about at all times.

I'd agree with you Lacaan, but the moment the run starts, the comments are set in stone. Skyebaby had the chance to ask the leader (and linkshell) if her comment was set right before the run started but she didn't. I would have gladly told her what to do. However, it is her responsibility to make sure it's set right. However, she set it wrong, claimed to have asked during the run (which is hearsay, I really don't know). Summoner dropped, she was told she couldn't lot smn or blm, then she ninja's blm.

Maybe the leader of fullwipe could have been a little nicer, I don't know. Still, it doesn't give her the right to ninja lot a piece the last 10 seconds before it drops. There are rules to follow and she didn't follow them.

lmao weird every single post that I've made from 5/27/09 has been deleted by a mod....cowardly people...no wait i'm being ignorant : ( lol anyway no one told me i couldn't lot smn or blm it's weird how, had something like this happen to someone else everyone would've been quick to make a post of it with loads of evidence (photos) chat log and all. i play on 360 so unfortunately i can't post all that fancy stuff. ok so the moment the run starts the comments "are check" right? i'm guessing on the runs I've been on and they've seen my mistake no ones cared to correct me? (setup?)kinda defeats the purpose of having a lotting list don't you think? i mean i did say the reason i lotted last was because i was speaking to wut i thought was an LS officer i was never told i couldn't lot until after i lotted, he was the one that actually took the time out during the run to try and explain to me the lotting rules and it wasn't my 1st run.

They weren't deleted. They were sub-defaulted. You can look at them again by going to the top and changing the "default" filter to "never filter" and hitting "save."

A mod didn't delete your posts. You just got karma-bombed, because nobody is believing your side of the story . . .

Edit: Corrected the method for viewing sub-defaulted posts.

Editga: I'd like to address something, not just with Skye, but for anyone who has ever applied to a linkshell that has its rules clearly posted and then claims not to know what the rules are.

WORDS. CAN YOU READ THEM?

I have a website that I have worked very hard on for my Dynamis shell, that clearly states all the lotting circumstances. Whenever someone inquires about our shell, the first thing I say is "My website is X. Go read the rules, then if you like what you see, apply."

And yet I still have people that come in, and have no clue when they can and cannot lot. I didn't write the rules just for my own personal edification. I wrote them and put them on the website so that, hey! people in the rest of the shell - and potential applicants - could read them too!

You are an adult, presumably. You should not need someone to hold your hand and explain step by step how their linkshell works when that information is freely available. You should also never apply for a linkshell unless you have a clear understanding of what their lotting policy is and what you are expected to do in order to obtain items. I for one would never, ever enter into a linkshell contractual obligation (I consider HNM applications to be contracts, after all) without reading the fine print. Claiming ignorance of the fine print won't get you out of paying your credit card bill, nor will it suddenly allow you to ninja lot a BLM belt and/or -1 hat without consequences.

I've had that problem sooo many times its ridiculous. On our page, all you can see before you're accepted is Applications here, and Rules here. Theres even a question in the app that says, did you read and understand the rules? And people just blatanly lie about it, because they have 0 idea how the rules work lol.

To Lacaan, I would almost agree with you about the LS not taking the extra step, but its just that. An extra step. Its not required. It was the members job to make sure she knew what the rules were (this wasnt her first run). She didn't take time to learn the rules, she didn't take time to learn who the officers were, and then she lotted 10 seconds before it dropped.

To me that sounds like she was frustrated by her own stupidity, so got pissy and tried to ninja lot. I would absolutely not give that person another chance, I'm not going to risk my members gear for someone who couldn't be bothered to read the damn rules. Coming on here to make a drama thread really doesn't help her case either. It's not like she came to warn about the LS, she just wanted to start some drama that she could be in the middle of.

Edit: because Im too stupid to figure out quotes the first time lol.

Oh, I definitely agree with everyone here, it was skye's fault through and through. It's just disappointing to hear that an entire linkshell let the mistake 'slip through the cracks' so to say, instead of atleast ONE person speaking up. I was a little overboard saying the LS had that much fault/blame on them, but still. Even if it was Skye's fault for being ignorant of the rules, the LS members/leaders assuming everything is 100% with a still fairly new member(2-3 months new to ls) is a little on the dumb side. It's why some LS have various newbie rules, so they can watch the new person with more scrutiny to see if they will be a good fit for the ls by following/knowing rules, how their attendance is, and their overall attitude and personality.

If Skye had not had the failed ninja lot attempt thrown in there, we'd all have a lot more sympathy for her plight. But getting told you were not supposed to lot something and lotting it anyway is an indication of a spiteful, petty personality, and not one that will always be harmonious in an endgame shell where trust of each other must be fairly strong.

And seriously, don't call us ignorant when you make the "Honest mistake" of lotting on something you were specifically told not to, 10 seconds before it would drop.

You can claim not to be a ninja lotter all you want, but regardless of why, that's exactlt what you did. Thanks for clearing the air for us.

When you joined their linkshell, you had an obligation to visit their website, and take a look-see at their lotting rules.
(In fact, why even join a linkshell, ANY endgame linkshell without first checking their rules, and getting a clear understanding of what was expected of you?)
It wasn't your first run, that's an established fact.
So therefor you should have already known how to set your /sea comm, right?
If you had been setting it wrong for the entire length of time you were in that shell, then yes, the officers are, at least to a small degree, in error for not double checking the new members.
But that doesn't sound like the case.
Catwho's post speaks wisdom in the fact that people need to take the time to read the rules and make sure they understand everything.
Most linkshell's even post the question on their application: "Have you read and understand our rules?" or something to that same effect.
We as leaders/officers of these linkshell's expect the answer of "yes" to be taken at face value.
If you were simply overlooked in your entire length of time in your shell, then I am sorry for that, but will say that the people who run dynamis linkshells can and do get very, very busy before each run, and it it's easy for someone new who might not be very vocal to fall through the cracks here and there.
BUT it is also that person's responsibility and obligation to send the leaders a tell and ask them "Am I doing this right?" BEFORE the run even starts.
You obviously have ample access to the internet, so I assume you visited their website and knew their lotting rules, yes?
If so, then, well, it's kinda your own fault, and yes, it would definitely look like a failed ninja lot attempt then.

yes i agree i failed to read the rules correctly, i more or so browsed over it assuming most dyna LS's are the same so yes i agree that was my own fault, but i'm still saying i am not a ninja lotter, never was and never will be.

Mmm...I luckily missed Dyna/drama this day. I'm a Fullwipe member and I can attest to our rules on forums are very clear and it is posted rules for CoP runs and how to /seacom in CoP...we have a full post just for CoP zones!!! We also have points posted on forums...it is the members responsiblity to know if you have points, if you don't you don't seacom anything but Synthesis materials, if you can't check forums or you aren't sure of your points ask one of the officers prior to run. We're not in preschool, officers shouldn't be required to hold our hands. Fullwipe officers are very polite and helpful, I haven't seen them kick a single member until I heard about this. We've had fiasco's where people have made major fub ups and not kicked them so this was a major situation for you to be kicked.
Skye I didn't know you well so I can't say if you "are" or "aren't" a ninja lotter. I mean all the fingers point to you as being the guilty person and you posting this on forums made you look bad, I don't see Fullwipe posting this, you started this post. I think you planned on trying to make Fullwipe look badly and it backfired on you. I didn't experience this fiasco, so can't really say what really happened, but...I can say I know the officers/members well and we're not out to make people look badly.

LOL. This is Darkcloud on my real life homeboys screen name.

Check this out. I don't post on alla for like 1 year, I come back and I read ANOTHER complaint about skyebaby. lol.
All I read about is complaints about you ninja lotting. This always happens with you. Your real life friend allision already got banned for massive ninja lotting, and you want to follow in her footsteps. due to the amount of times I personally seen you ninja lot stuff, it isn't too far-fetched to hear Vvsey telling this story on alla.
Fullwipe let you join their LS? They deserved that ninja-lot. I like them and they are very skilled players and you never deserved to even attend events with them anyhow.

she has done that "I didn't know, I thought I could lot" (with 10 seconds left to pool drops) thing in the past before.

BTW Vvsey I'm doing great. How are you?

You are a bum skyebaby. You got no job playing this game at 6am on a monday morning cause your loud mouth, twix/pringles/Snickers bar stealing ass stole from your own business supermarket.
You also carried your bum ways to FFXI by deciding to steal this wonderful BLM AF2 gear from Vvsey's wonderful organised LS. You should be ashamed of yourself bum.

You are a bum... go get another job and stop stealing from people who trusted you enough to accept your applications (supermarket application and fullwipe application) and most importantly, QUIT BEING A BUM!
#43Sirflaw, Posted: Jun 27 2009 at 11:14 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ummmm, Don't people only call people a Ninja lotter if they lot something and it drops to them? From Vysey's first post he/she says Black mage belt drops and then you ninja lot it in the last 10 seconds before it drops. You lose the lot and I made damn well sure you got d2'ed before you took anything else. so you get *NOTHING*! You lose! Good day, sir! So did she get the belt, Did she not? I've lotted by mistake tons of times when i was trying to pass something fast, I do that with currency alot. So what's the problem here, Someone's being called a Thief and they didn't even steal anything? Is there a gas leak or something?

They knowingly lotted on the item. With intention to keep the item.
That is what I gathered from the posts.

You're missing the point Sirflaw.

Lotting something with the intention of getting said item and not winning it does not condone you from doing it. And the fact that she attempted to take the belt the last 10 seconds before it dropped does make her a ninja-lotter, sorry.

(and if you even read Skyebaby's posts, she did lot it intentionally)

You are stupid sirflaw. To prevent an accidental lotting. You simply do not pass the item at all.
Let it fall to the person that lots it. The time was not about to run out.. which would be the only exception to passing really fast.

You are always defending skyebaby everytime sometime accuses her of something man. Always defending her. Lets accidentally lot on a nice blm belt with 10 seconds left when I have blm75..... Yea that was an accident?
GTFO sirflaw. You sir, are a noob anyways.

not sure if you're just a jackass or just jealous that people come to my defense lol my lot was not an accidental lot...it was intentional i just wasn't aware that my comment was set wrong and that i wasn't allow to lot just yet. but i'm over it no big deal.

Everytime you post you just make yourself look worse lol. The person defending you said it was accidental, not the "jealous jackass" (although, I have no idea how jealousy could possibly come into play here). And ffs, how could you not know how to set a comment after multiple runs? Someone even told you, before you lotted, that you're comment was wrong. My god dig your hole just a little bit bigger lol.
