well I think that the prices are finally starting to go back to what they were before the post christmas fiasco with the prices. Our servers has one of the worst, if not the worst economy. Once school starts back up agian the prices should start to level off again. Lets just hope the 2500 gil for a stack of fire crystals doesn't stick around long cause that's just crazy

lol, Fire Crystals usually go for 3K steady in Bastok. And since the Rusty Cap to Padded Cap Phase came in, the Light Crystals have shot from 7K to 9-11K :)

i agree with our server's economy bein inconsistent as hell

Could that be due to you putting them up for auction, incidentally, at the same time as someone buying them in bulk? Doubtful that someone buying a large quantity is going to go back and lower the price after the last 6 stacks were 2.8k. Just a thought~

Think about this,,,,

All you need is 2 ppl. I have started to notice this alot...

One person sells 10 items at lets say 5k higher than par.

The next one buys at that price and returns the items to the first person.

The first person then has the price where thay want them.

Now do thie with the Hairpin with a bunch of people... Thus raising the price like mad 100-150k.
People then see the price at the inflated price and sell ther emp.pin for that because they see that it can sell for that.

Now take the first option... For items that are farmed.

Person 1 sells for 2k higher.
Person 2 Buys all of the items in the AH

Money and items are then returned.

Person 1 sells for the price they want and they know that they will sell first because they are at the origonal price or even a little higher.... Everyone looking at price history will see a price that has been Fixed... and sell it for that price less 10.





With all of this being said.......

This is for you to watch out for not to use....

This pisses everyone off and has been going on for too long.

If you see something that is priced too high... then dont buy it... I do not... I have seen prices on items go from 1k-10k and back and I can pretty much tell you when it will happen.... (weekend verses weekday) (summer vaction verses not)


If anyone here sees this and they are doing it....... there isnt realy anything you can do.... but you can go out and farm the items u need. 0r get a group of friends to help you camp the NM.

As for the mithkabobs higher priced in Jeuno, that is explained by the AH surcharge.

Fire crystals have come back down again, so you can rest easy, Syrian.

IMO, weekends are crazy-ish. Because XP parties are harder to find, people spend their time crafting and doing other "boring" stuff. Common ingredients skyrocket because demand goes way up, and quantities of goods for sale increase as well. By Tuesday, things stabilize until the next weekend.

The one thing on Seraph I have still never been able to grock, is why don't the dang big ticket items drop in price? Like boots, signa, hairpin and so forth. You would think that eventually they would make their way into more characters hands that need them, so then the quantity sitting in AH would go up and price down. But it doesn't seem to happen, and looks to the observeer as price-fixing.

On the other hand, we all have a hand in this as buyers as well. If we as consumers don't pay the price, it gets returned from the AH and they have to put it up again for less.

Come to think of it, maybe Seraph isn't so whacked, and we are just upset about high prices.

I also noticed that the "big ticket" items as mentioned are going way up, but I'm not even close to 300k so I can wait it out. I have also noticed the high price of crystals lately, and it's been a double-edged sword. Even Earth and Water Crystals are up to 600 a stack.

Although I have never been able to get a good price for a stack of Lizard Tails. You'd think their role in the Quest "Mommy's Helper" would grant them SOME value, but a stack always sells for like 10 or 20 gil. I have to sell them to the NPC...

I think they mean they took a break from the game. Cyrstals going up in price is not a problem i've seen on seraph I always see them Low low low...

I was only using crystals as a reference. This was actually for some armour...however I cant seem to find the orginal thread. This individual stated a huge increase in everything upon his return to his server. From my understanding of the thread, he was an avid player and in my personal opinon didnt seen to step away from the game for any amount of time. Just enough time to let the server go through it's maintenance and him to log back in

Just find an alchemist for the powders, most of us are fairly nice people ^^

I hate the rising prices on big-ticket items too. You can't always "just say no"--I needed a Cermet Kukri +1 when our static hit 62 last night, for example, and those things are pretty rare to find on AH. To my surprise, one went up for sale yesterday. There was no way I was going to let it pass and have to wait weeks for another, and since it's a crafted item my only other option would be to level a craft to insanely high levels I don't have the money for. So I caved, and bought it for almost twice the going rate (199k for something that had sold for 100k in 8 out of the 10 previous purchases), because some f*ck decided to jack the price. ><

I think part of the reason for the price jump is that demand is increasing. People who started playing at the PS2 release are hitting the 50-60 level range, and they have money to spend now, so they're finally able to buy the uber NM drops and HQ crafted items. We're seeing demand and price increase without a decline in supply, since all the NMs are constantly camped and we have plenty of high-level JP crafters pumping out the goods. That's what pisses me off--half a dozen Emperor Hairpins are sold every day, it's not like you'll have to wait long for one. >< This is just people exploiting each other. Sigh.
