Old player returning to Phoenix? Is it still alive?Follow

Hello to everyone, i am wating for the 2nd of july to renew my subscription to FFXI. I used to play until 2 years ago and my main job is a BLM 63/WHM 31. All i want to ask is: Is phoenix server still ok? Community and economy wise. I know that many players will be returning now that the lvl cap is going to be raised but i just wanted to hear anything from players still playing the game. Is it really worth coming back? (all i know is that i want to play but not wait for like days before i get a party, or that i cant make any gil cause noone is buying/selling anything in the ah)

I also figure that my old LS pals are not still playing the game, so any social ls with members that can party close to my lvl range for exp would be nice.
