i personally hated doing throws, but throws are key. if you dont, then you cant counter throws either and you'll lose a lot because of that
the most basic is just pressing low kick and low punch at the same time. there's other throws you can do using directions, but it's best to get your timing down first and getting used to throwing before moving to that. the most "advanced" throw is a glitchly throw called kara throw. i still cant do it, but its one where you step forward and in that split second you throw. it's VERY VERY deadly if you can do this often because its quick and at range, especially with ken
i would say to use ken over ryu, ryu doesn't really have anything strong like ken and his special is like the easiest thing to dodge or block. when you get someone with a powered up shoryuken, you @#%^ them up good
and ken and ryu suck at haduken fights because of the long delay after they do one. ken is an "up in yo face" type lol, so never give people distance, ken's weakest like that. if you <3 fireballs, sagat wins because he has the fastest ones that you can spam very fast AND his basic throw throws the opponent as far as possible so you can keep doing fireballs rofl. sagat is considered to be the easiest to play with and powerful at the same time, so give him a try too.
there's a lot of subtle things you have to pick up on your own, it helps A LOT playing with people that don't spam random sh*t. learn your opponent and if you see yourself @#%^ing up in the same situation too often, it means you're being predicable and you need to figure out in what way and change it up (or better yet, take advantage of that since you know what hes going to do, then counter his counter on you!). example, my friend who i play with all the time is best with vega, i had a habit of doing shoryuken asap when i fell to the ground when he was near me. for the longest time [because im that stubborn], he would always always always do the stupid back flip to dodge it and i'd be open like saitoes mother on a friday night. he still does the back flip, but now i get him =D and i use shoryuken sparingly because a miss = you're @#%^ed.
the ken flow chart is funny because ken is the most popular character played online and they all love spamming shoryuken lol.
