Iron Man 2Follow

I enjoyed it. It wasn't as good as the first imo, but it was still entertaining.

Also, spoilers aside, stay after the credits.

I never got a chance to see the bit after the credits. The annoyingly strong winds knocked out the power right as the big fight at the end was starting up. I have a coupon for a free ticket, but I don't know when I'll get around to using it.

Saw it last night and really liked it. I like the first a little better, but not much. A very good sequel, considering the track record that sequels seem to have nowadays.

I find most of these comic book movie battles to be pretty uninteresting overall. The main draw for me of the first Iron Man movie was the comedy. Stark was a magnificent bastard. In Iron Man 2 they spent time trying to develop him as a serious character, and horribly failed in the way all these comic book movies horribly fail with their characters.

I liked the mace, though. That was a nice touch.

Just watched it tonight, it was great.

Pretty much what I expected from reading the comments here. The big battle at the end, being over so quick, was a little disappointing, but other than that it was an enjoyable watch.

Pretty much anything with Robert Downey Jr. in it is a must watch for me.

Please, advertisement is a normal thing, and I've always found Burger King commercials to be humorous. The Dr. Pepper commercials weren't bad either.

Amusing (OK, not really) story about Dr. Pepper. I went to see the movie again on Sunday since I still had to see the end. They are rather insidious about the insertion of it, but you can clearly see Dr. Pepper being consumed twice in the movie, one instance of which shows the actual can on the table. This sort of thing is hardly surprising these days, but it did take me out of the movie for a second when I noticed it.

I think I'm so used to commercials I don't even notice product placement in movies most of the time. *shrug*

And Scarlett Johansson wasn't half bad, just the dramatic posing and over-the-top guard killing kind of irked me. I never enjoy over-the-top action, whether it's intended to be humorous or not. Rather liked the movie, even the ending fight was pretty cool, if a tad short. Shame I didn't catch the ending scene after the credits.

Really? I wanted to see that (probably on DVD) just because of who was in it. Steve Carell and Tina Fey, and it was bad? That makes me sad.

Date night is a cute comedy about a couple refinding their mojo. It involves a lot of running around, and breathless humerous conversations, as opposed to action. Also a hilariously ripped-abs guy who is unapologetically used as a deus-ex-machina and sex-object not once but 3 times, for the absurdity.

I much preferred Iron Man 1 to 2. 2 was great for the fights, I loved the bad guy with his electric whips. I loved the scene where Stark lights up as he finds the hidden code in his dad's map Spoilerin order to create a new element. I loved Scarlett Johansen, particularly her fight scene. I thought the fight scene's over-the-top speed and posing was appropriate for an action movie.

What I didn't like about Iron Man 2 was the Stark-Pepper Potts relationship, which was completely unbalanced by non-stop miscommunication and fighting the whole way through. It lacked any moments of quiet connection almost entirely, and this lessened their relationship in this movie. The fighting and b*tching dialogue could have been funny, like in the first, if only it had let up a few times.

This constant b*tch-fight also meant that the opportunity was destroyed for what could have potentially been the most emotionally moving scene in the whole movie, Spoilerwhen Pepper Potts finally discovers that Stark has been dying all this time of serious toxin poisoning from his Arc Reactor. As it is, throw out any romantic or sexual expectations, you are left with the buddy-relationship alone instead.
