Too bad Ifrit server forum is so dead ...
Anyway, if anyone ever happens to read this, I wanted to see if I could find old friends. I also wanted to find if there were any big old linkshells still active. I want to build up hype for FFXIV with old mates and start it with skilled friends.
Is there a forum where I could find more Ifrit people ?

Hey chin not sure if im gonna try FFXVI the concept seems interesting, but after the fact i vowed never to give SE anymore of my money i just don't know, its a damn shame i bought a PS3 for FF13 i suppose i will still have to buy that one when it comes out.
After years of Customer Disservice, secrecy, incompetence, disrespect for players, lackluster updates, deception, and all the other SE BS, which SE has never even attempted to do anything about or even acknowledge, there is not much chance I would trust them to operate another MMO in an improved manner.
I suspect FFXIV will have all the same issues as FFXI, just in a different package.

Holy sh*t lol. Did not even know allakhazam was still around until today.
CHINOOK, SALAD, KARLY! Been years since I talked to you guys. I've still been playing FFXI on my new character I made in March 2008 (Ryland), up until a few weeks back when I got hacked...trying to get my char back, but caring less and less everyday haha.
I ended up joining the U.S. Army, and will likely be heading off to Iraq later this year, unless my unit gets reassigned to end up in Afghanistan. With that being said, I do not think I will be playing FFXIV, but hopefully it rocks so you guys can have fun with it. Anyway, hope all is going well with you guys! JoS for life!

I just came back from Iraq about 4 months ago. You'll have an easy, wealthy tour over there, so long as the stability continues to grow in the country. It was extremely quiet (2 mortars a month!) when my unit left, and as the Iraqis get their feet under them, and take over their own security, you'll probably end up moving equipment around for an (hopefully) exit, whenever we finally give up that ghost. One of the guys I worked with summed it up as, "Came to a warzone, and garrison broke out."
Now Afghanistan...keep your head down, your helmet on, and all appendages you want to keep attached to you inside the up-armored vehicle. Good luck to you, if you end up there.
Let us know you're still not dead, every now and then. As slow as Ifrit forums are, this thread will probably still be front page a year from now.
