Finding out who has your nameFollow

I didn't know this was possible until today. You can search through POL for names of character, and it returns the account they are linked to.

Maybe this might help some people.


In POL go:

1) Upper right hand corner > Friend Search

2) Hit yellow Left arrow twice to set it to "Final Fantasy XI"

3) Type Character Name

4) Hit Search

5) Click on the names under "Search Results"

6) Click View Profile to see the account.

7) Click on the XI image tabs to browse the other characters on the account.


Pikko appears to be absent on Lakshmi, it doesn't list anyone holding the account. I'm unsure of how it works completely, so maybe you can hide characters.

After trying the search on my mule, it is not found by the search.
Yet I can't find anyway to set a profile to be private or shown to all.

Pretty sure that means the character is just inactive. I had done the same search when it was first announced.

You can always just send them a friend request and see if they take the bait.

I'm pretty sure that friend request go to the handle.

I tried it on my name, "not Found" I am guessing that during the merge, are characters aren't there at the moment. Well just good news I guess, hopefully I get my name on new server.

Well, according to search, the person who took Wwcc's name is apparently Solidoussnake of Lakshmi. >.>;; That's the only person I know of who's had their name purposefully stolen..
