Just logged in to say hi to some friends, but none of them are online! Did a /sea all, and only 963 people are logged into Garuda.

I'm really excited about this world collision (it's not really a merger). I'm going to enjoy seeing more people on at all hours of the day and night.

That's why this world merger is such a good idea. It's been very difficult to get parties together when there is less than 1000 online. I remember the old days of 2500-3000 people online during the evening. Would be really funny if Lakshmi had enough 75 mages that LFP to balance out Garuda's lack of mages seeking at 75. A quick /sea all the other day pulled up 13 level 75 DD's LFP and not a single healer or buffer in sight.

i love whm. i love playing whm. i detest parties especially with people i dont know.
it feels like you are the brain surgeon and if you make the smallest booboo then the patient dies and its all your fault.
theres just too much pressure.
i have some other good jobs up but if i do anything with other people do they want them? not unless they want better drops. its always whm.
if i want to leave a party can i get a replacement? no. if i leave the party breaks up. who wants that? not me.

It might be a good idea to GM the people who are sending tells saying they're holding character names hostage for the server merger though I don't know if the GMs could do anything about it. It's worth a shot though. If you get a tell from someone saying that you have to pay such and such amount of gil to be able to keep your name when Garuda merges with Lakshmi, GM them right away. Maybe, just maybe something will happen to them.

The naysayers are, in my mind, just plain stupid.

They are selfish shells of people that decided long ago they only play FFXI to obtain the next best gear set, or maximize the gear that is obtainable.

They see a larger playerbase as a hindrance to them obtaining their next desired item, and it doesn't make them very happy.

They are afraid of competition, which is the lamest part of the entire ordeal. The competition is supposed to be the fun part, that's why they delved into item collection XI to begin with.

Just the 6.4 in Taiwan a few days ago. The news showed some footage from a security camera inside an elevator full of people when it happened. The people inside were rocking back and forth but they seemed completely expressionless as if they didn't care what was going on.
