Minimaru, the new Shadow Lord? I think soFollow

Ohh, excitement! and a bit of a cliff hanger until next post.. you left me on the edge of my seat =O

Before I get into this part, i couldnt remember if Star Sybil was a title or a name, so i assumed title. If I was wrong and someone wishes to point this out, please due but refrain from being a tool about. Thank you.




Sarja-Maku rushed around Heavens' Tower trying to get so many things done. It was only a few days till the new Star Sybil was to be named. It had already been announced but it done this way. The formal announcement would wait for the offical cornation. Koraga-Leragu was to be named the new Star Sybil. She Sarja-Maku's boss in Heaven's Tower, and being promoted to Star Sybil meant that Sarja-Maku must take care of all the formal work for the cornation.

To make matter worse she pregnant with her first child and it was due any day now. She feared missing the naming and worst, hurting her child with all the work ahead of her. She grimaced at the thought but pushed through her work. She looked at the time and saw she was running late. She had a meeting to get to. It was a very important meeting of the Tarutaru Nation.

The Tarutaru Nation had been established shortly after The Crystal War. It was establish for the expansion of the Tarutarus. Not Windurst as a whole but the Tarutarus. It worked in secret behind the scenes. Moving pawns and making moves as it furthered it's cause. Very few within Windurst even knew it exist and even fewer outside Windurst knew of it.

Koraga-Leragu was the leader of the Tarutaru Nation but as she would become the Star Sybil a new leader needed to be named to take care of day-to-day affairs. Koraga-Leragu would be the overall leader but needed couldn't handle everything so they would be naming a new leader. Most within the Tarutaru Nation assumed
Sarja-Maku would be named, as she was second in charge but with her forthcoming pregnancy, no one was sure.


Sarja-Maku rushed across Windurst Waters to secret meeting place. Glancing around causiously as to not cause suspicion. Just after crossing a bridge, she lost her balance as she felt a pain come from her stomach. She fell to her knees clutching her stomach as dropped. Her whole body shook and she started to cry. The pain was to great, something felt wrong. She rolled to her side as a passing Mithra ran to her aide. Yelling for help as she reached Sarja-Maku.

A group of patrons helped take Sarja-Maku to the nearest home adn called for a White mage to come to her aide. She laid in the bed, wretched in pain. She kept crying, "My baby, my baby." The people in the room looked to each other with expressions of sorrow. Suddenly she screamed at the top of her lungs as she passed out.

When she awoke some time later she was bathed in sweat and she hurt from everywhere. She looked down to see her stomach had shrunk and she screamed in fear. "Where is my baby?!" Her eyes darting around the room vigoursly. Her eyes found a small Tarutaru sitting at the end of her bed, trying to calm her.

When their eyes met, Sarja-Maku felt relief for in the Tarutarus eye she saw joy and happiness. She started to talk but the words were lost in tears. "The baby is fine my dear but I fear for you." Standing up she moved to her side, "Something was wrong and you are bleeding inside, we can't stopped it. We are trying everything we know but there seems to be little we can do."


Taken a back by what was said her, her own mortality staring her in the face all she could say was, "Can I see my baby?" The Tarutaru looked down on her and smiled nodding. She turned and exited returning a few minutes later caring a bundle of blankets that was crying. She slowly lowered the child down to her mother's opened and waiting arms.

Floods of tears flowed from Sarja-Maku's eyes as she held her child. She smiled through the tears, holding her baby close to her heart. No words came to her, she choked back sobs. Lumps kept forming in her throat as she held her child.

Suddenly she said, "Your named is Minimaru my child. So small you are and so sweet. I love you so much my child." She looked up at the Tarutaru White Mage standing over her and she smiled at her. She accepted the smile but shocked covered her face as she saw Sarja-Maku suddenly start to fade. She ran forward and graped the child as Sarja-Maku's arms slumped to her sides.

Her turned her head to look at her child once more before they faded away. She laid on the bed, her body failed her but her spirit smiled down on her child as she moved away. The Tarutaru in the room cried openly as she held Minimaru in her arms, coddling her in sorrow.

Hours later word reached Koraga-Leragu as she left the meeting. She rushed through Windurst to find her friend, but to her sorrow and grief, she was to late. She laid on the bed, still as night and looking content with the way things ended. Falling to her knees beside her friend, her ears perked up as she heard a baby cry in the next room.

Suddenly looking down to at Sarja-Maku's stomach, her eyes looked to door as she stood and walked towards it. Pushing it open slowly she saw a Tarutaru holding a child in her arms, "Is that her child?"

Almost being taken back, she answered quickly, "Yes. She named her Minimaru before she passed." standing to offer the child to Sarja-Maku, she quickly spoke. "I tried everything. Everything I knew and nothing worked. I am sorry so sorry." Tears came to her and she fell to ground in sorrow after she handed the child to Sarja-Maku.

"I don't blame you for anything. Please don't hold this against your own soul. Tarutarus are so much more then this. This is sad a day for us all, more then you will ever know but a new tarutaru was brought into this world and that would never of happeneded without you. For that, I owe you more then I could ever repay. Know that the child will be raised happy and strong. You did a great deed and for that, you must never be sad. Someone will come in a while to collect my friend, I am to take her child and leave now. Thank you, my friend." Smiling down on her she took the child and left the room heading straight to her home.

Kolvar I just had to say we miss your great stories friend. I really hope you persue them more, you have a great talent friend. Btw, Ive also missed passing ya in Garuda. I hope u didnt leave, if ya did may you reach your goals in whatever chose in life. Take care Kolvar. Hope to hear from ya soon :)

Wow that installment for being short was actually really good and pretty cool, I got knocked the f*ck out! but I'm glad it was Cid whom did it, and the two of them got away! I liked it a lot.

Ahh...good to see that Kolvar hasnt lost his ability to come up with absolute meaningless crap for the general purposes of entertainment.

At any rate...miss me?

Minimaru laid against the wall. Not moving. Barely breathing. Her unconcious mind raced through what had all happened. It was like a dream but so more real. At sme points she didn't know whether it was real or not but something told her to listen. Her head turned to the right and then to left so slowly. Almost feeling as though she wasn't moving at all. Nothing. Everywhere. Nothing.

Slowly she turned around. Nothing. She looked up. More nothing. What was this? Where was she? This had to be inside her mind but where? Memories came back of the last few weeks. Destruction. Death. Terror. Horror.....

She gripped her head between her hands. Squeezing hard as she could, trying to not believe. She screamed. So loud she couldn't believe that no one heard her till she remembered she was nowhere. She screamed again and again till she couldn't believe that there was anything left in her. It all went dark.

She swiveled her head around to see nothing but darkness surrounding her. Engulfing her in it's embrace. She felt... ok. All she had done seemed to make sense, justified. They were evil and she was the justice of the Vana'diel. Or was she? Doubt drifted in. The blackness slowly pushed away to show a field of light with a shift of blackness on the edge. What was she?

From the farthest fringes of the light and dark came a huge figure. Wrapped in darkness. Almost emitting from its very fabric. Where it walked, the blackness followed it. It was almost formless. She tried to take him in but he seemed to change as quick as she saw him. He walked a path around her, leaving a trail of blackness that surrounded her. Threatened to choke her. She tried to move out but it clung to her, dragging her back. The thing laughed. It was a horrid laugh, shook her down to the very ends of her soul.

Spinning around trying to follow IT as it drifted around her.

"You are mine from now to forever. You are nothing in this world without me." he laughed again and Minimaru almost fell to her knees. "you gave your soul to me. To serve the Dark One eternally as The Shadow Lord of Vana'diel."

He hissed. Such a wicked sound. She screamed. He started laughing again, stopping her scream suddenly. Her head jerked as his laugh stopped. She felt warmth on her back as she turned to face something that awed her soul. "Altana!"

The Dark One seemed to shrink in her presence. The dark feelings that he filled Minimaru seemed to fade slowly every moment that Altana was there.,

"Child, he owns your soul as much as I do and I lay no claim to any part of you." her voice, almost like music. "you are at a cross roads Minimaru. You have several choices that only you can make." She started to circle me along the same path that The Dark One took. Cleansing the ground.

"You can follow the path of the Dark One. Bringing destruction to all you love. This is the easy choice my Child. Evil is easier then good." She seemed to shrink as she said it. It was as if her own words hurt her. "Or you can chose to follow the path of light. Save your friends from the destruction that you could wrath."

She drifted back from Minimaru. Almost the same length that the Dark One stood back. "The choice is yours Child. no one else." Her musical voice soothed my soul. He laughed. and laughed. and laughed. She shook her head.

Hey Kolvar I really hope u keep adding to this Story. We always look forward to your new Storylines. BTW hope your doing really well friend. May this thread live on a very longtime. Im ready for new adventures of Minimaru. BTW Mini I really miss seeing ya on Garuda, hope your doing really well also in life :)

Minimaru's mind raced. So many things had happened to her in such a short time. She had killed her friends, the same as she would a foe.

Why? To what ends did it serve?

She looked over at the dazzling aura of Altana. Such beauty. So much that she was almost forced to turn her head. How could she chose good when so had done so much evil. How? Almost as if reading her thoughts, Alanta gave a deep smile that seemed to embrace Minimaru and washed away her doubt. She wanted to run to her and grab her for all she was worth.

Suddenly she turned to face Dark One. He gave her purpose. He gave her power, power she had graved for so long. How could she give up that power, so much power. She stared at him and as she did, it was as if she knew that every death at her hand was just a step closer to her ruling. Ruling all of Vana'diel and bringing the Tarutaru Nation to the glory it so deserves.

She turned and looked at Altana again, before spinning back to the Dark One. The world started to spin as she looked back and forth, she heard herself scream suddenly, "WHY ME????"

She stopped, feeling alone again. She turned around towards the light, nothing. Then quickly towards the darkness, nothing. She was utterly alone. She started to scream at the top of her lungs. A scream that could topple a building. A scream that could scare the mightest of Warriors. When she finally stopped, she knew her answer. She had chosen.

Cid and Maikeru moved through the tunnel at a slow place. Cid knew then better then any living being but Maikeru's weight on his shoulder was slowing him. He didn't mind. He had helped to stop one of the greatest evils ever to cast it's shadow over Vana'diel, or so he hoped he did. He looked back for what must of been the tenth time, expecting to see her walking around the corner, sword in hand. Nothing.

Maikeru was weezing softing in between grunts as he moved. His injuries where bad. He had a White Mage coming but he wasn't sure it would be enough. All that had been lost at the hands of his old friend minimaru. All that would need to be rebuild. She shuttered to even think of it.

The end of the tunnel was in sight. He lifted his hand to cover to his eyes from the beaming sun coming through tthe entrance. He half cariied, half dragged Maikeru out and sat him on the ground. Using one of his link pearls he talked to his White Mage friend and found out she was near. Hopefully close enough yet.

Slowly he lowered himself to the ground and rested. He had almost passed out when the ground started to shake. He jumped to his feet and looked around. An eatherquake? He only felt it coming form the direction of the cave entrance. NO! It can't be...

The temor stopped just as the entance to the cave exploded. Cid jumped out of the way just as rock the size of the his flew past him. He turn to Maikeru to see a small boulder rolling down his body and his head flopping over.

He turned back to the cave entrance, watching a small form coming walking out of the dust ridden rock. A small sword in her hand. He looked back at Maikeru for a moment, suddenly Minimaru's small body was over the top of him with a sword pointed at his face.

"Miss me?" Was the last thing he heard before her sword pierced his right eye, pushing back into his head before stopping when she hit bone.

Minimaru spoke several words of magic before her sword light up in fire, engulfing Cid's head and finally the rest of his body. She watched as the flames dance around the smoldering body of her old friend. How pretty they look she thought. The fire reflected in her eyes as a shadow of darkness engulfed it.

She got up and walked over to Maikeru, leaned down and kissed him gently, "I loved you once."

She turned and spoke several more words of magic before disappearing in a loud crack.
