There is a trick that was found out not long after a new tunnel was opened in Gusgen Mines. The tunnel lead to a newly rediscovered area known as Oldton Movalpolos. This is a place of Goblins of greater size then any known before in Vana D'iel. Since it's discovery, there has been a silent war with Bastok. Until recently, there was no peace, but now it has come to pass that a time of calm exist.
Many Bastokans now have trade set ups with Moblins. Cid, a reknown inventor. He has been traveling to Oldton Movalpolos more and more lately, collecting new types of ore and learning from the Moblins. Recently, he went to Oldton Movalpolos to speak with their chieftain about trade of ore with all of Bastok.

Thayos ran from the Spire of Dem to Gusgen mines. He knew of a trick that would bring him close to Bastok with a simple spell. As he ran, he thought of all that was transpiring in Vana d'iel lately. Royal Family in San d'oria had disappeared. Star Sybil hasn't been answering any summons or allowing visitorsto her chambers. Many new and old adventurers have turned up dead or missing. The world is changing he thought. Shaking his head slowly, he stopped and focused on a Tunnel Worm that had popped out of the ground. He quickly spoke the words for Aspir, a spell that would take a portion of the Worms magic and refocus it into his body. Felling the charge of the magic, he ran on as the Worm attempted to cast a minor spell on him. He entered into Gusgen Mines unharmed.
He took a few turns till he came to the newly dug tunnel that would lead to Oldton Movalpolos, from there he cast a spell of escape. He quickly blinked out and reappeared outside a tunnel in the area of Northern Gustaberg. Adjusting himself quickly, his vision cleared slowly but just as it did, he saw a small shape appearing in front of him.It was a small Tarutaru wearing Red Mage garb.
Small lines of brown energy wrapped around her Engulfing her fully as a large circle of great power formed on the ground as a behemonth of a onster rose from it. Flexing its muscular arm and yelling out a shout of that shook the earth around him. Thayos stepped back.
He looked at the Tarutaru quickly and saw a smirk cross her face, the color faded from his. She winked at him and the behemonth known as Titan walked towards Thayos. He took another step back and attempted to turn around and head to the tunnel. His right arm flung out as his body started to turn, but he stopped as his arm was grabbed by Titan. He looked up at it then at Minimaru as she sat on the ground watching, enjoying.
It pulled him closer, grabbing his other arm and pulling his arms far apart. He winced and he felt his body stretch and keep stretching beyond its limits. His shoulders popped lightly as he screamed. Titan keep pulling harder and harder. Throwing his head back in agony he felt his right shoulder giving way. His muscle tearing slowly, then his left arm popped completely out of socked and he scream a scream that could raise the dead.
Titan kept pulling at him harder it seemed. He could feel every muscle tear, every nerve tear, every bone crack. He screamed again, the pain was to much. He felt blood flowing down his lips and look to see part of his tongue on the ground, bitten off in an attempt to stop himself from screaming. His arms were about to give, he knew it, hearing all the crunches and grinds in his shoulder.
His arms stopped hurting. He fell to the ground and looked to his sides. BLood poured out of where his arms should of been. He looked up and saw his arms in Titan's hands. Blood dripping from them, bone sticking out. He started to scream but was stopped as his own arm came down and hit him across the face. thayos lied there, not feeling the blows hitting his limp body. In the last moments of his life, his mind slipping into a surreal state. Taking him back to the day he started his Red Mage trainging. His father showed clearly in his mind's eye.
He stood proud and tall, gleaming in red. His father was one of the greatest Red Mages Bastok had ever produced. His abilities were only second to a Red Mage trainer in the city of San D'oria. The day he left for his trainging, e smiled down on him proudly. Handing Thayos th sword he would carry till he was given his fathers. He explained to Thayos the nature of magic and and how to focus ones energy through their sword. Then he escorted Thayos to the ship that would take him to San D'oria for his formal training.
Thayos trained hard for years, mastering all he could. He would never reach the level of his father had achieved but ever would. One day while trainging in the courtyard, several of San D'oria's high officals approached him, one was the prince himself.
Few knew this but Thayos's father had saved the prince once when he came across him lost in King Ronafoure's Tomb. The Prince never forgot this.
They sat Thayos down and explained to him that a small army of Quadavs had besieged Port Bastok and his father had died defending his beloved city.
The Prince then escorted Thayos home and even spoke a few words at the ceremony. THayos never cried that day.
He was told when the Quadavs attacked, his father was on of the first defenders to respond. Seeing a group of children being chased, he lead them to a house where another family was hiding in the back room. He placed the children with them and stood between a group of Quadavs and the innocents. He fought bravely/.
He was stabbed in the deeply through the back, puncturing a lung. He fought on till a few defenders saw another group of Quadavs rushing the house and went to help. His father slew over two scores of the best before casting a very powerful spell of protection on the innocents in the house. He died shortly after before any White Mages could reach him.
His sword was presented to Thayos that day his father was buried. He laid his own sword in the tomb with his father. He was never without that sword from that day on.
Now his father stood before him, placing a hand on each shoulder. It seemed so real to Thayos, yet so much like a dream. Smiling down on Thayos, "You did well son, time for you to join your mother and I."
Leaving a hand on one of Thayos's shoulders, he turned and lead his son into nothingness.
He passed out or he would of seen Titan beating him with his own arms till he laid lifeless on the ground. Dropping the arms over Thayos's body, Titan vanished.
Minimaru stood up and walked into Oldton Movalpolos.
