I knew when I posted this thread it would bring forth ppl that have an opinion in which I don't care to hear. If I wanted ppls opinion about how I feel about things I would have posted that in my thread. So if you are not offering an LGBT linkshell pls keep ur trap shut.

Busa nailed it. I wasn't going to comment on your thread, OP, but you being a twat toward Sara (who shares your opinion in finding "that's gay" offensive) just because she didn't tow your line 100% shows that you are incredibly immature.

All Sara pointed out was that such an attitude was correlated in her experience with immaturity (and she herself admits to having that immaturity). If that's how you react to any criticism, you aren't being a great model for the LGBT community.

And I don't think there's an LS on Diabolos that stands primarily on LGBT identity. There are some (or were some, don't know currently) that have "speech code" type rules that would prevent saying "that's gay" or similar phrases (though trashing religion in the most hateful terms was a-okay), but that's about all you'll be able to find.

becasue the first time i heard it was from some gay friends. today to many people get offended a the drop of a hat. the bigger of a deal you make a word the more it gets used the more u try to stamp out somethign the more people pus hit. if you are homosexual you are its not none of my business. but posting it pubically. takes it to a hole new level. others are not as open as others. then demanding people to nut use it around you. casues problems.

many years ago. in a ls i was in we were a fun loving, open, and very comical group often making many referancec to all sorts of things. always keeping the mood light and generally having a good time. then a person like the one who created this post joined. so the hole ls bent over backwards to make 100% sure we did not offend this person in anyway. it wasnt anything really hard to do. a few less jokes, a few less poking fun at peopel in certian ways.

then they flipped it on us. generally talking about things that others would find offencive. hey if u love men. i got no problem wit hit. but if u get offended with stories of a nude hot chick. dont go around telling the hole ls stories of how u love a nice hard meat rod in all your openings.

now we would be polite and ask this person not ot do that. but it was evident that they themselves had ther own version of hedro bashing. in hte end they were kicked out of the LS due to telling a story of a gay orgy they were apart of while a 12 year old was in ls.

now im NOT acususing you of being this way by any means. i know a few people on our server who are non hedrosexual. but i do not know of onry ls of that nature on our server. tolerance works 2 ways. dont expect one group to be respectiful to your feelings if u do not wish to be respectiful to thers.

and the term will always be used. i happen to use it daily. a habit i picked up from the same gay friends who use it just as often as i do. and i dont plan to change . becaue u view the comment as directed tword you. if it was it would be worded diffrent in a holstile manner. if u see a term that is offencive . take a step back. a deep breath. look at its context. then before u say anythign remember the freedom of speech. then in a nice tone comment on the nature in which the term was used. and im sure if it was ment to be offencive tword a invigiul. the person will oppologige. if not then go to the LS leadership.

through out history many words have been labled as offencive by groups. and many are still used example

nigga
which is a slang usage of the word @#%^ whigh is a conversion of the word niggro. all 3 are calssafied as offencive. unless your a person of a poticular nature using it as a term of enderament ot another person of the same nature.

your offence is not everyone elses. now if my use of the term offends you i'm sorry. its not ment to. its not directed directally tword u in a way of harrasing or demening your sexual orentation or life style. tomorrow the word box, coke, stud, trot, boom, sync could be offencive to someone. doesnt mean im going stop using those words. but i will however be mindful of your dislike of the offence. and will do my best to not use it around you.



ahhh now were all homophobic? noooo . maybe ther offended by your lifestyle in general. maybe that makes them homophobic. but if it does then that makes you Hedrophobic...(if that is a real word if not. i claim it for now) put the shoe on the other foot.

as for the race question. what does skin color haveto do with your sexual orentation? it doesnt. plus i know gay black people, gay asian's, even a gay american indian. comes with the fild of employment im in. i meet all kinds of people. the otehr statment about race i refered to earlier ^^

i give as much as im given. but im not goingto do everythign you want , say everythign u want me to say. act they way you want me to act. force otehrs to do teh same. then you just do what you want. its not fair. thers a old saying im sure your aware of.

i find that oddly arousing in a non homosexual way.............

We live in a society with massive double standards, especially in America. Most of the people that lol off the things that you find offensive would rage if you said @#%^ or whatever. In truth they are all just words but thats the society we live in, in reality though you should just try to thicken your skin to stuff like this. People overreact way too much to simple names in todays society.

Hypersensitivity seems more like a sexual disorder nowadays.

Emotions should be used more as a descriptatory fucntion within fictional literature rather than a governing factor with our beings and society.

Share the love of FFXI and the hate of FFXI. Although internet and forum chat seem to bring out the buttholes in people. I mean that as a bad thing too.

Sara, I have to point out that some of your corrections are not grammatically "necessary" but simply stylistic choices.

It is pretty bad when I try to make up a word when I can't think of the proper tense. These chat-jobby windows should have a spell check option. screw the 1000 different emote options. Don't misunderestimate my meanings (for you, George W). :-)

And... yes on the spelling. I use firefox but I often just submit without checking my red underlines. My spelling is normally good when I write by hand, but my typing is atrocious.

Bad style? Yikes. My wardrobe has bad style. It was meant more as a verbal conversation style / tone. I am no English major by far, but I do attempt to clarify my thoughts the best I can, without careful reexamination of my text and thoughts. I think it = I type it.

My point was (if I remember correctly) that emotions should be limited to intimate interactions and in personal entertainment. Emotions can cloud judgement and mask alternatives when not thinking "clearly". Due to their "personal" nature emotional misunderstandings are frequent (hence why men "never understand" women). If society (the collective of individuals) could learn to be less emotional-centric than ... i lost my train of thought. Windows 7 looks stable. I'm thirsty.

Close friends and family? Distant family? Normal friends? Good acquaintances?

The Trek reboot is set in an alternate timeline. In fact, in Trek canon, all time travel creates alternate timelines (except "All Good Things" I think).

That movie with the whales was a good one. Man I haven't seen any of the old movies in forever.

I was pleasently surprised with how good this latest Star Trek movie turned out. I kept wanting to call Spock "Syler" though.
