Barring anything critical coming up in our lives, Orianah and Corso will be on XIV on day one. We are also currently waiting on the PS3 beta, which I'm told will be later this year, hopefully by summer's end.
Our goals this time are to try and keep up with missions and quests. It always felt like we were being left behind in XI, and we don't want that to happen again. I still miss XI every day when I play games, but without switching servers, we just didn't have anywhere to go to accomplish our goals anymore. With XIV, we won't let that be the case. Looking forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces in the strange new world.

Hey guys It's Hobo... remember me? haha. I'm coming back to play FFXIV was in the beta for a week or so and it has potential. Was wondering though if any of you guys were going to play and if some of you were what server is everyone going to?
I'm not an old-timer since I only started around PS2 launch, but Blau and I are planning on giving XIV a go. Still miss XI and Caitsith, hopefully XIV is able to recapture the feel. ^^ (/wave to anyone around who remembers the Evil Kitty. :D)

I usta be "Shadows" and then moved to another server and came back to Caitsith and had to change my name to "shadowsni". I had a tarutaru and was with the old gang back in the day with EscapeLS and other HMNLSs. I do play on going to FFXIV. Can't wait for the game to come out hope to see some old friends on there~!

I played the Open Beta for like a day and I was really unimpressed with the controls. I don't know if it's changed but I wasn't able to set the arrow keys for moving the camera angle like in XI. I didn't like that tab targets self first, either. My computer can't handle the game very well so if I do decide to play I'll be waiting for the PS3 version.. at least then I'll have a use for my PS3 besides being a bulky blu-ray player ;p

Supposedly the restrictions on camera keys has been lifted and you can bind almost any key. I haven't tried it myself, though, so can't say for sure. Tab targeting yourself first is a little odd as I can't think of much reason you'd be trying to select yourself for anything in that method. Makes for some added difficulty targeting mobs (it'd be nice if we could cycle through mobs only like before, too).
Since there's still a while before PS3 release, though, it's possible that some of the larger updates prior to March will improve some of these things.
