I'll try to make this as short as possible.. We were good friends on Pandy, I lent him 5 Imp. Wootz Ingots to finish his Ares Cuirass, with the understanding that he pays me back to finish Skadi's Cuirie.. Several months later I'm on a break, and he's moved to Caitsith.. About a month ago I'm back, I give him a month before really pushing at what the ingot situation is.. And all I got, when asking if he'll have some ready in a month is, "lol no." He's still doing HNMLS with DaFunk as far as I know - I logged into my Caitsith mule (which was supposed to transfer back to Pandy with my gil or ingots at some point), and of course see him doing Sandworm, and now Sea.

What makes this worse is that throughout the entire process, he made absolutely zero attempts to get me back any amount of gil, with the insult to injury being that he will not even say he's sorry, or offer any condolences at all. He had, and continues to have, legit opportunities to send some ingot help my way, but nothing.. His initial excuse was that he needed to save LS points for Homam (instead of exchanging for gil). He also spent a lot of gil on Smithing. Finally, after getting no Homam, he tells me because of a new job, he can't get on FFXI much at all to play, and cannot exchange LS points. This, while I see him on most nights. If he really can barely play at all, he should sell at least some of his equip in the short term to pay me back, right? Well no, he says, because he does HNMLS ... Total BS imo, if he made it any kind of a priority to pay me back over these ~6 months, I'd have recieved more than the total of 0g (or 0 ingots) so far.

Sorry for the rant, but it took me ages to earn those 5 ingots, and he's basically stolen them from a friend without any hint of a 'sorry.' And believe me, he's had many ways to communicate, we've been in contact on AIM the entire time, and PoL messages most of the time.

This has basically ended with him presumably blisting my Caitsith mule, as I finally pressed the issue of what he had done/was planning to do. Kudos Lilioh, for jacking ~half a Salvage body from a friend who needs it in the worst way, and all without any remorse.

Please, beware Cait Sith goers, do not loan him a thing; and really, from what he's done here, I don't know why any decent person would want to associate with him at all. He's a selfish jerkoff who, in a perfect world, would get what's coming to him.

(and by the way, if anything he owes me more than that, as I was a large reason he has Fortitude Torque, from the Ghrah M Chip farming on up to Fort.. He even sniped my HQ Amemet Mantle when I let him use it for DRG exp, and lol'd when I asked about it.. I believe he had sold it).

Lilioh ~ (and by extention, those who side with the person even after these dealings), I wish you the very worst..

That stinks dude, what a little prick. I for one don't let anyone borrow anything unless I know where exactly they live. Just in case I need to make a visit with my fists. Thankfully in my 5 year + ffxi career it never came down to this as I have surrounded myself with quality people(i can call family) who care more about playing the game for fun/story instead of fancy items/gil.

Also you are better off posting this on the order of BlueGartr player warnings thread. You will get much more drama out of it as people rarely visit these forums. Hell he may get flamed so much it may actually solve your dilema and get you your wootz ignots.

Yeah, lesson most certainly learned.. I probably won't be lending anyone anything of real value in a game again. I'm really not looking for drama, but as I farm my 4.5m back 10k at a time, it does give me plenty of time to get worked up about the situation.. I doubt I'll see a thing from him, but he doesn't deserve a clean reputation now, so I'll see to that as much as I can. Guess I'll make a similar post on bg.

Carrilei is believable player, imo, based on my personal experience with him on other posts, but proof will be nice.

Smiley: wink

I have personally been cheated in the game, but not something as valuable as this. Most people I met are nice and trustworthy, however. Even Internet is anonymous, I feel it is not fun to have to cheat and trick your way through the game. I have never find being an a$$hole is anything fun.

Yeah being scammed sucks. Right now though, to people that don't know both sides well the whole thing carries about as much weight as me saying soandso just stole xitem from me, and I haven't played in two years. Nothing personal Carrilei, but I don't know either you or Lilioh.

A ss of some sort that shows Lilioh got the said items from you and refuses to pay you back in any manner would greatly help your case out. The dilema would be figuring out how to get these after the fact.

Carrilei's a long-standing member of the forums.
Admittedly most people don't read the COR boards, I do.

This is reprehensible behavior, and I appreciate you bringing it to public attention, Carrilei.

Don't expect much from /bg/, as it's basically a circle-jerk of people who put self-gain over morals.
Drama threads exist there for their lulz.

As a player from Cerberus, we certainly got a lolz for Cerberus drama >_> My rule is even I do read BG, I let those stupid idiots bragging and start sh*t unless they start it with me directly involved. At the same time, I do my best to avoid item BS and fight with loot whores in the game.

Things like this should never happen ideally, and GM should be best to reserve to fixing people getting stuck with a glitch. I read that BG thread, and there is nothing GM can do about that altitude in that thread.

The thing is if OP is true, and if Lilloh sincere, even OP has been away for a bit, would have paid back. I thought sportsmanship is a good thing? And this is only a video game that people play for fun, is not 10 million NBA contract. Being mean in the Internet knowing something cannot punch you back is a cool thing?

Then again I am a bastard that helped found the original Dreamers. xD

Though I do have a question? What happened to end game on Caitsith, I come back and I find NQ players everywhere.

When did all these people on Caitsith start to suck so much?

One thing is that I believe LS leaders should hold their members responsible to what they are doing to outsiders. What often happens is that some a$$hat members are kept more because they are useful not because of their personality.

I have had this problem even with my chat LS before. It is a far more serious problem in end game LSes.

Anyway, I wish politics never enter this game, but it will never happen. For sure, I despise LS politics with a passion, and I try not treat is a necessary evil.

I have decent gear, and I have fight some tough end game monsters. I find happiness in the game is not always related how tough monsters you have fought or how shiney you gear is.

In a matter of fact, after the first time you fight a strong NM, the excitement level decays rapidly next time. I have my choice if I decide to grind or not, but I am pretty please where I am in the game -- at least in achievements. For sure, it is not what I am wearing and bragging keeps me playing -- as pixels are pixels, it will go poof -- either you quit, delete character, SE closes server, or even if one decide to go down the path of selling your character. It will end, one day. Pixels and parsers number and percentages are all zero at the end.

The concept of HQ vs NQ players are often nothing more than just a tool for some people think that Internet and virtual prestige matters that much. As long as you are having fun in the game, does it matter that much what others are doing? Or you are only having fun because you are having pretext call someone as "NQ"?

Everyone has their own intentions on this game. If we don't classify people then what is the point of even playing. It might not be the same thing to you, but it is still a consensus of people who believe in your "internet prestige" I'm going to be honest with myself right here and tell you that I enjoy competing and knocking people off their pedestals.

I think the problem is not really how competitive you are, but I think people should have the right to not get involved in somewhere else s**t. And even one can be competitive, one can play fair as well. You can compete with sportsmanship. Too bad there are too many "An eye for an eye" and A-Rod/Roger Clemens out there.

For all of I have seen, the self proclaimed "best LSes" will always have to cheat to the top. Does it really have to be that way? Or you can really fight your way to top without resort to foul?

Wtf? Idk how things went down when I left, but in my time with Dreamers we didn't cheat at all. And as far as I'm concerned no one cept for one JP shell cheated. I heard all this crap after I left the game so idk how it works now, but your claim is absolute bullsh*t. And myself and Dreamers were better than a large percentage of the server.

That was directed at Skatelife, not whoever the hell I was talking to before.

I am not sure how long ago you left the game. I myself am disillusioned how some people played the game for a while. IMO, you are at least very honest in what you feel about this. I rarely have people to be this honest about me about end game problems unless it is a person that I considered a good friend.

Reminds me the old SpinShark post about end game haha. Now I have a reasonably busy RL, I am still single haha, so I have time to play, but not as much as in the past to care about having the best gear. And I cross server posting from Cerberus -- notorious of end game drama if you read BG.

I will apologize if you feel I have crossed the line. Either way, I am glad you talk honestly as plenty of people will not. They still think Ridill and E. Body are worth lying and rubbing arses to get.

Hate to update this, but.. I see him on his Pandy mule tonight, ask him if he has anything to give me.. I go to trade him, he puts 4m in, but logs before trading.. So not only stole 5m, but taunted me about getting most of it back. He even IM'd me this pic..

I didn't want to bump this thread at all, but this just defies explanation.. As to how sh*tty a person can be.

How does that person even get 4 million gil on a mule on a different server? I can come up with two ways of doing it.... one legit and one not legit, but either way involving spending real life money (brogames it or server transfer) and make 4 million gil not available to himself to use.... and then spend the time to make such a pic.....

Smiley: disappointed

I tend to doubt youd've found it humorous if you were in my shoes.
