and you will be able to combine every job ability into 1

A friend & I were discussing what will happen at 99, and one possibility he came up with was being able to use 2 HR.
on main AND sub..... maybe /SUB would be a 4 HR. though lol.

would be interesting.

fair points but i just think abyssea is TOO easy. i understand what you're saying about how after levelling to 75 the old way, you're glad you can exp easier on other jobs. i have no problem with that. but what if you got to 75 on your first job the abyssea way. is that earned? has that player learned their job? have they put the work in to be able to say "i'm level 75". or are they just being gifted it? are they not the equivalent of people who bought PCC via a gillseller? you should have to earn 75 on at least your first job, then do what you want with the rest

No offense, but who are you to decide what's earned and what isn't? Remember there was a time when the XP to 75 was greater than it is now. Did the people who leveled before the XP reduction "earn" it while those who did it after didn't? Did people who leveled to 75 before colibri existed earn it while those who did so after did not?

Comparing Abyssea to RMT is just preposterous. Playing a game as designed, regardless of your opinion of that design, is the exact opposite of the outright cheating you are comparing it to.

but also abyssea is essentially: hey! we're gonna incrase the cap to 90! everyone 75, come here now!
a day later, you're no longer 75 you're 90. now where is the game inbetween this? why not increase the level cap to 9999, and just get you there in an afternoon? where is the actual game content from level 75 to 90? does it actually exist or is it just a gimmick? allow me to use spinal tap as an analogy:

The idea was to lower the demands of large groups, since the game is nearing the age when people will start dropping off. This could of course have been solved by lowering all HNM levels by 20, but SE decided it would be more fun to add levels to the players. Same deal really.

I.e. same content, but less demanding of having 18 people camp your HNM. Luckily SE didn't stop there and make us all camp Fafnir in groups of 3 people, but added new sources of armor as well.

The levels are just numbers. What you should be looking at is the game play, and how people play now compared to before.

I wont key whore personally but I can fully understand why people do it especially for sub jobs and while it is still possible now to find groups if you look hard enough, eventually a new method needs to be established maybe an addition to FoV or something new that allows for smaller groups to get a good rate of xp and to extend it to all non Abyss areas.

For the OP if you do look hard enough you can find people who don't do Aybssea it just takes a little more work, I got a semi static going from 30-70 by just asking around a bit.

since i first posted this topic, i have been posing it to various linkshells i take part in, and also in parties or to friends.

i have to say although people who think abyssea is great are not exactly rare, i'd say by a significant majority of people i ask think it's only good as a way to level beyond 70+, and the old method of exping has pretty much stagnated since it was introduced. especially at 50+. which they agree is a big loss to the game. most people i speak to are in favour of a 70+ only criteria for abyssea.

so i wanted to ask, has anyones opinion here changed on this topic, or does the majority just like it how it is?

It will change when SE fixes spirits. Which seems to be never.

2 things will help big time in fixing lower level content. 1. Any job under 75 gets severe exp penalties so leeching would be controlled and 2. introduce a couple new jobs. Every hardened vet player level new jobs like no one's business. The infusion of new blood is the only way to keep the game going. Yet the game is so unfriendly now to newbies. :(
#61Whatlad, Posted: Jan 22 2011 at 12:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) they've just said "hey, everyone have endgame. everyone. any level you want on any job" i can understand the attraction of this, but the whole portion of the game before you get to endgame has been decimated, and "well i don't care coz i did it ages ago" isn't really the most intelligent school of thought on this matter if you genuinely love the game.

Well, duh! Achievements have always been and will always be meaningless. It isn't like I care if I got Zerglot award in SC2, I just find it funny to get it. I'm glad you finally realized it and might move on to be a better person.
