BST's in Campaign

First I apologize if this has already been posted, I don't have a premium account so I can't search the forums, and no way can I manually search nearly 11000 threads just in suggestions.

Anyways, I just had a thought regarding BST's in campaign battles. Since there's very few areas where BST's can charm worthwhile pets for fighting with (honestly Vunkerl Inlet and La Vaule are the only places I can think of offhand, but then I am allied with Sandy), my thought was how about making some kind of jug pet that is either;

a.) a temporary item from campaign arbiters after you've obtained allied tags, or...

b.) a stackable item that BST's can buy at, for instance, a certain medal level with allied notes, can hold on to until use, but can only be used in campaign battles.

I'm not asking for uber-strong pets, but something useful would be nice in those areas with too weak pets, or with no pets at all (ie Eldieme Necropolis). And if possible something besides a crab would be nice too, lol.

Anyways, just a suggestion, but I hope you find it has merit.

There are a lot of area's where bst can charm EP to T pets. You just have to walk a bit further in some zones.
Pashhow Marshlands [S] - slugs
Vunkerl Inlet (S) - crabs pugils
La Vaule (S) - pugils tigers
Jugner Forest (S) - tigers
Meriphataud Mountains [S] - Fly's

Grauberg (S) - SE please let us charm wivre next update! Please!

There are probably more area's with decent pets but since I hate campaign I can't tell you more about it.

But yea you right more charmable pets or some jug pets you could buy with AN would be nice.

*edit*
Just found a guide you might like in the bst forums:

I had forgotten about Passhhow, though I didn't include Jugner. The tigers in Jugner are passable, but low EP. When I listed places, I meant with DC-EM pets. Besides, I did say "places I can think of offhand", lol.

Being a mithra, I generally try to stay away from T pets, too many mischarms, too short a charm duration, but they can be very nice for campaign too. Unfortunately, as that list you linked me points out (and btw thanks for that link), there just aren't very many places that are decently BST friendly. In fact the only places listed as very friendly were the 2 i mentioned plus passhhow that I forgot, with jugner just behind with somewhat/very friendly.

I'm not asking for BST to be uber in all zones, but it would be nice if we could live up to our full potential in all zones, instead of just in four of them.

I think temporary jugs in Campaign would be a great idea, OP... so kudos for that :)

Side note though:

Garlaige Citadel [S] is an absolute BST playground in Campaign. Gate #3 has EIGHT (!) EP Slimes you can use, and Gate 2 has Four more slimes plus a ton of bats (which I avoid but you can use in a pinch).

It can be a pain to get to the NPC and really get the hang of navigating the zone and all... but it's well worth it for Campaign XP on BST I think... I've been having a TON of fun there :)

Back in the day I suggested offensive units have docile pets travel with them and stay outside fort range awaiting to be charmed. Their level would automatically adjust to the BST and if defeated, would retreat back to the outer line and basically be untargetable for a few minutes.

Defensive battles would have a "stable" of sorts spawn by the Arbiter, where if charmed, would grant a pet just like above. In both cases, however, you'd be restricted to taking one pet per every 2 or 3 minutes to keep potential abuse to a minimum.

Plan B could be cheap jugs bought with AN that also match your level, but they'd have to have some kind of Campaign latent applied to the pet so they don't wind up killing the normal market. If SE was sneaky, these would actually spawn as different pets depending on zone to keep inventory clutter down. Or they could just pick a specific pet type per nation.

The idea of ready-to-charm campaign pets sounds pretty cool, but how would you balance it? Not enough pets and if you have too many BST's, some go without. Too many pets, and you have everyone subbing BST to charm all the rtc pets and add in that much more damage.

I suppose the pets could, as you say, adjust to the BST level, and if BST is subbed, they could only be a max of level 37. For that matter, too few pets might not be that much of a problem, it would just be a matter of "first come first serve, bring your own jugs anyways just in case".

Personally, (and not just because I suggested it), I think allied notes jug pets that can only be called during campaign (and by extension only exist during campaign) would be a more viable and easier to program option.

I still quite like this idea. There should be a cheap allied notes alternative to consumables for campaign. Allied arrows, bolts, and bullets along with allied jug(perhaps a generic one that spawns a pet fitting of the zone in which is was called out).

i was toying around with an idea of a jug that could have the chance of spawning 1-5 pets like Rongo-Nango in campaign. I think it would make campaign a little more entertaining for BST.

Also, if it could be used outside of campaign it would call upon one of the pets randomly.

If the chances were very high though that would leave BST very strong in some cases of campaign, especially if multiple BST get lucky and obtain 2+ pets. Perhaps have the odds of it scaled to the number of PCs or NPCs in the area, if it is already too crowded, less likely to get more than 1 or 2 pets, but if you are in an area with only a handful of other people, chances are you will see 3-5 instead of just one.

I suggest it partly so that crowded campaigns won't become ridiculously more crowded due to the increase in beastmasters wanting to play with the new jugpet item. Otherwise it'd shave an extra few minutes off the already short 5 minute campaign battles of crowded areas.

It would encourage beastmasters to not be totally alone but to not pile in with everyone else. Instead going to areas with some, but not a ton of people.
