Use of this forumFollow

I think there's something else at work here. A lot of my threads are disappearing mysteriously as well. New threads. I don't believe it to have been nuked though. Nothing within those threads would have warranted a nuke. A lot of them are in the same vein as the threads I created that haven't been nuked.

Moreover, I had an additive post commenting on ninaru's latest TP screenshot and it mysteriously disappeared as well. Funny though that it was a post that I made in succession to the new threads I lost. Some threads I posted several minutes down the road stayed though.

So you prefer to through the baby out with the bathwater before Square-Enix even sees it? For those of us who post without making backups of the material then have it deleted then have try to put it back up then get it deleted because it was "discussed before" makes no sense to me whatsoever. I moderate a couple of forums myself (not Final Fantasy) and we have a few options at our disposal - merging multiple threads, deleting troll posts (and editing the attacks on the troll to keep the topic of the thread still active), etc.

In the system you created, perfectly legitimate posts are deleted after careful consideration of your rules and guidelines only to be penalized for the actions of very few who decide not to follow the rules. Why penalize the ones that are abiding by the rules by throwing out the suggestions?

I'm concerned mostly because at this point this is the only way that I can think of to talk to others about my ideas to see if they basically stink or not and hopefully be read by S-E to see if it's legitimate enough to be included in future expansions and/or updates. By destroying the discussion after people have made their remarks (good bad or indifferent) you are basically destroying the idea of which you are trying to promote. The idea being having a healthy discussion of things that we think S-E might consider adding/amending to the game. Also by straight deleting a topic without giving a reason for it you create a problem of not describing what transgression the person made (was the topic repeated, did someone bump it, was the topic ludicrous) and you force people to then make a decision to relist the topic to find out that it didn't fit with the criteria that you apparently have and we don't know.

Because more often than not, an original idea can be improved/refined after an intelligent discussion. We're not all trolls here...

wow that's actually a pretty good idea...the current forums are more of a "heres my idea, help me work out the kinks" and then if they made a forum that only finished products went into, that'd be most efficient for finding good ideas. Allowing everyone to rate, but no one to post but the devs is a brilliant idea. in my opinion, this is the best route.

all threads posted in this forum not approved by moderators would be blasted.

Excellent idea!!! Definite rate up! It may be a bit hard to pull off, but if it is done correctly as you suggest, it would go a looooong way towards cleaning up this forum. Again, I would also like to stress the fact that feedback from SE DEVs would be a great thing to see. It's great that we are getting a place to voice our opinions, but there is no way to really tell how well we are being heard. Also, feedback from SE would help us to give SE more useful suggestions.

Off topic, I don't quite understand why my previous post got rated down... but it looks like just about every post in the thread got rated down. *sniff sniff* Smells like trolls

Noting this thread, it is becoming more and more tumultuous as time passes. In a mere week, it has now had more threads in it, than 8 of the various Job Forums, and Quest and Mission Discussion, and the 5 Race forums combined together...

Thats over 6 MONTHS of posts, that have been eclipsed in a single week. Without sorting, or sub forums, or sometype of order to this, this spot is going to be nothing more than an over crowded Venting ground on perceived wrongs in the game. Regardless of how valid or invalid a topic may be, all will likely be ignored equally. No dev is going to ever look through 1000 posts one by one, because by the time they are done, they have another 200 to contend with, if it only took them a day or two...

In order to have this forum work, it needs to have some organization to it. While in theory, deleting bumps may seem good, it only clutters this up more. Ratings make no difference, because this forum does not have unique rating system. If someone is rated down on another part of this forum due to loudmouthing against one or two particular people, and then posts a constructive discussion here, it will be filtered out due to low rating. Likewise, if someone with a high rating posts random rehtoric, it results in it having higher light, even though the post may be worthless or simply say "Add more monsters in Gustaburg."

Don't bump posts, but remove duplicate posts. Make each thread a discussion where others that have the same idea can expand or refine the idea. 95 posts that say vaguely the same thing is worthless, 1 post that has 90 threads that refines the idea into a workable solution, or realization that the idea is either not needed or impossible to impliment has merrits.

YEah i was logging on to FF the other day and i turned on my ps2 and went to the browser screen and it said no data, there was no usaly hard drive picture so i turned it off and restarted it same thing so,, i took out my harddrive check it for dmg and go NOTHING so i put it back in the ps2 and still no data i was like WTF IS GOIN ON i need to send this back or get it repiaared i checked the warranty and its 90 days i have only had FF for like 1 month maybe a BIT more plz if u have any Website,phone numbers or any help i can have pLZ post it here i need to fix my thing bad

All I want is to be able to transfer my characters to another PS2!

I had originally gotten the game for myself and my GF took an interest in it. (I was shocked to say the least) She started playing whenever I wasn't on and then began cutting into my playtime. As the more busy of the two, she had many more oppurtunites to get on than I. I had been planning on getting her a PS2 and copy of the game for her birthday while she was still in the low levels. Unfortunately, my department was eliminated from the company I worked for and money got tight. Her only request for her b-day was to be allowed to stay on as the primary player of that PS2. I had to give her something...

So eventually I got a job and got another PS2 and copy of the game for myself. I tried starting over, but hated that. I tried focusing on crafting at first, but with the influx of the PS2 players and many more new players coming in and trying to start crafting, along with my world's black hole economy, this too proved to be a bust. She tried starting a new character to play along with me and she hated that. Eventually she had surpassed my character and only wants to play on her main to try to catch up with her friends and she resents the time she wasted trying to level up a character with me where she only has one job up to lvl 50 on her main and all her friends have at least 2 jobs that are lvl 60.

The same with me, my old main character had already accomplished so much and my friends have all left me far behind in the dust. On this character, I already have all my jobs, I have done all but 3 quests in my home nation, I have a good many of the others done, and I'm just one stupid tower from rank 4. I've just done too much on my main.

I love that there are new characters coming in, but most of the time it is a pain to play with them. I hate that I'm missing out on all the high level stuff and that I can't level and play with my friends anymore.

It's just not fun on the second go around for me.

I still get to see a lot of cool stuff, but most of my playing is 3rd person because I'm explaining and telling my GF what to do when she gets stuck, some of the more advanced Magic bursts & skill chains, and researching what neither of us know.

We've tried sharing and thought we had a good share schedule going on because we keep different hours.

I don't fret about it when I can't get on, but I miss the freedom of being able to get on my own character anytime I want for as long or as short of a time as I want.

Today, I decided to erase my mules and my "replacement mains" except for one that I can play around with and craft. I now only have two characters. My old main I get to play with very seldom and my crafting mule, both on 2 different PS2's. I also decided to erase my crafting mule by the time the expansion comes out if SE doesn't create something/update the game so you can transfer your characters.

My girlfriend will be transferring to a new college and will be living on campus there and plans on taking her PS2 with her. If by that time SE has not done something after the expansion is out, I will then delete my last and final char unless my GF decides she wants to play as a Galka for some strange reason. After that, I will never return to FFXI, but may move on to a new game like WoW or EQ2 or whatever... I might even decide never to play another MMORPG ever again, too much time involved too easily thrown away.

Well, that's a long extension on the one simple request I had. ^^

could we have more Real mini games? not like just talking to a npc and getting text but say go up to a randomly generated ??? and get step up and win 10,000g!
also need a safer system for ppl to gamble, it here and people like doing it so lets make it safe?
also red mages only get thunder 3 at level 75.... isnt this the pinnacle of any job? why do we get a blm spell when we are rdm?
shouldnt we get a high end rdm spell?
i.e.
dispelaga refreshra, gravityaga,
and are demi, en-dia, en-bio, ever going to be spells?
i also feel the current pvp system is silly as it requires too much set up...... the idea of fighting you freinds for no profit or exp would be better.... say you wanna just go and wrestle with your freind just for the fun of it?

just becuz something isnt grammatically defined its not important?! how dare u!, if u understand wut someone is saying, who cares how they say it? i think that u and others use grammar and spelling as a way to pick on ppl that u feel are weaker mentally. its not because u are soo ignorant that u cannot understand that u = u, i dont think thats the case, tho u might not have the phonetical adaptability that others might have, but that it would bother u so much that u would go out of ur way to destroy text that someone has takin the time and energy to write wut is on their mind, their feelings, or their observations, sickens me. as this is a forum for guests and members of allakhazam.com you might want to speak with the Leader or CEO about wut is and isnt allowed on a user based forum.

i kan maik awl the gramer airors i want, its called speaking phonetically and students of art and design colleges (2d/3d animators, game designers, and everything inbetween) are incouraged to pay attention and learn to write this way as it helps with the breakdown of words in the process of animating the mouths of characters and lining up audio tracks, if you have ever seen a dope sheet you will know wut i am talking about.

please everyone just stop with the grammatical nit-picking and rating down, go ahead and do it if ur a loser, but in real life u cant go around being a tattle-tale, less u wanna get ur *** beat.

the fact that anyone can rate anyone down, for no reason wutsoever should be a wake-up call to everyone to stop doing it. if ur rating affects your posts in any way, which they dont and if they do, well then somoene might wanna have a word with the Host of alla because i can create any number of free accounts, and then rate myself up endlesslesy, heck, u know wut? i think ill go do that right now ><

You people give only 2 drops and it still doesnt acount for how many people have to face it iv seen 3 drop and that in the treasury and we had to divide it amoung 30 people. plz change this give it more drops or give it more to drop.


all it drops is cashmere cloth and fire crystals.

Didn't Square-Enix say they do not read forums?

Actually, Darth, in a recent interview SE said that one of their main sources of feedback is forums such as this. They seemed sincere enough. :D

1: Make Drks get less hate from their JAs and give a trait that helps with absorb spells.
2: Give Plds a damage accumalation move i.e. Pld take damage stores it for a certain period,then unleases the damage back 50-100%.
3: Give Drgs more attack and accuracy bonus.
4: Make it so that once you defeated a NM you can't claim it the next time.
5: Exchange the effects of stoneskin and phalanx.
6: Make the monoploization of guild products stop, somehow.
7: Make it so that harvesting/lumbering/mining in the same spot (not area) for a certain amount of time stop the point to spawn

Can anyone say, for sure, if SE still reads this forum?

So regauring this is it possiblle to give somesort of Personal Thread making capability to delet on our own threads. Flames and inapproriate posts. That way u don't have to go through and delete everyones threads and none of the good posts. Is that giving us (Thread Makers) too much power. Good ideas can be posted and flames can be deleted by the Thread Maker.

On a Different note wouyld it be possible for u to create a thing that will send us (Thread makers) a PM, so we know our thread was nuked or sent to a Better thread for SE review?

And on a PPS, why insult or "Pee in the wind" of your admins. Kinda makes them not wanna listen to any of us.

After careful consideration of the matter, I have come to the conclusion that "Haggan, Mountain ... whatever", if he is truly one of the moderators, has the spelling and grammatical abilities of a 10 year old (or less).

That being said, if this is the quality of the people that IGE have brought in to filter these forums for SE's feedback, then we need to find another outlet. Go ahead Haggan, rate this down, and me too if you feel so inclined. But let it be said that the majority of the English speaking world can actually phrase and spell the following correctly (and this is only from one page!!):
"OK heres the deal, threads are being delted for various reason"
"one of them is they get to high in post count."
"and the bumping person rated down."
"Typing in caps will get your posted nuked quicker than Easy Mac. Except when I do it. Cause im cool."

This last one is mentiond because, according to your signature, you're not even a FFXI player, just some newb from another game that has no clue what we are even talking about! Do us all a favor - pay a bit more attention in English classes and a bit less attention to online games that you obviously know nothing about, much less participate in!

I'm 0/8 on Maat after today's excursion. I would've won but because I was paralyzed I was interrupted when using my pro-ether. This was no biggie because I just figured I could keep him slept till Paralyze came off. I went to use it again and I get the "...A command error occurred." message. I looked in my inventory and it wasn't there. A friend in my linkshell reminded me after the fight that this also happens when you use a job ability but you are paralyzed instead, rather, the ability gets used without being used. To me the ability usage even when paralyzed makes sense, but why does it take my item? I implore you to look into this matter. Job abilities will come back around once the timer is done, but I think it's silly to take our hard-earned items away just because we were paralyzed when trying to use them. Thank you.
