Also, hello GB! I'm the one on oxy now. My doctor decided he didn't like how much pain I was in, and neglected to tell me about the incredible memory problems. I think I'm going to wean myself off it slowly. I'd rather be in agony than have to sit for ten minutes 4 times an hour to remember a simple word I need to communicate to people. The last 3 words/phrases that took me that long to work out were: "address book", "negative", and "real-estate agent".
It's scary to struggle for ten minutes to remember how to say "negative".
I feel for you. :( It was so frustrating to struggle for the simplest words (I remember having an issue over "salt shaker" once). My balance has also improved so much being off of it. I rarely fall due to my condition anymore.
I spent most of last year in and out of the hospital and with in-home visiting nurses and they tried to put me back on it. I just couldn't go through it again. I had several arguments with doctors over it and refused to give in.
But on the plus side ari if someone asks you a question and it takes 10 minutes to respond they might think you are being sagely about the advice you are about to give.
This could be true for Ari, but for me, after 10 minutes of staring off into space I usually gave them, "I got nothin'. What were we talking about?"
