I am looking for ways to improve my brd. I was thinking about a resist build (sorry if this has been asked before).

During cure, buffs, -na spells, dia, regen I would wear three items.

Blood Ring
Enhances "Resist Blind" effect
Enhances "Resist Paralyze" effect
Enhances "Resist Curse" effect

Insect Ring
Enhances "Resist Poison" effect
Enhances "Resist Silence" effect
Enhances "Resist Virus" effect

Flawless Ribbon
Enhances "Killer" effects
Increases resistance to
all status ailments

For buffs I would lose 5 singing skill and 6 wind skill. Which in my current build will only matter for victory march. I think I lose one tier there.
I still am capped for minuet.

When singing debuffs I woulds still macro in CHR, wind and singing skill. Debuffs are fast to cast anyway.

Problem is Flawless Ribbon is not easy to test. Nobody I know has it. I want to know if my resist build would work before farming/buying 150 Ancient Beastcoins.

1. Any brd here uses any of these items?
2. What is your expercience with it?
3. Does the resist effect proc often?
4. Will I notice it during Einherjar, Nyzul Isle, assaults, dynamis, limbus, salvage?
5. Is it worth losing a tier or two in victory march?

Please no cheap shots as: "buy echo's!" I always carry 12 echo drops on me. It is very annoying when you casting a song and an <insert mob> will silence you half way. Then I would have to pop an echo and start all over. Hoping I wont get silenced again. Popping echo drops is just painfully slow.
Not to mention all those other annoying effects which echo drops don't fix.

I carry my insect and blood rings but never really use it. The number of times I've seen Resist Silence activate on my RDM in the 4months I've had it is maybe 1 times. But for nonsongs, nothing you're going to use is really going to be useful to the spells anyways so you might as well macro it in. However, if inventory or gil(the ribbon is like 600k at best) is an issue, it's not really going to be useful.

When wearing this i resisted more than previous with Sleep/Lullabye or if not resisted it lasts far less than it used to
Bio, Dia and other DoT effects have never been resisted or no to effect but again sometimes it will pop right off or lasts a few seconds again less than they used to.

Most notable;
Bind/Gravity on thf - no effect and resisted more
Breakga/petrify on whm - only lasts a few seconds

So taking the above into consideration i think this piece of armor is well worth the 150 coins personally a must for EG White Mages and to get the best out of it just set up macros for the debuff to stack up the def i.e ice - paralyse drk - bio, sleep, CHR - charm etc, Barspells also magnify the chance of resist or to no effect and whilst most of you are prob thinking ya like we already know that, this piece definitly cuts down the time or if your job has that trait already you will def resist more.

Some other users also post the same thing. I guess I will give it a go and get the Flawless Ribbon. I also found an extra item that could help me:

Peiste mantle
Enhances "Resist Poison" effect
Enhances "Resist Paralyze" effect
Enhances "Resist Petrify" effect

I did the exact math on what I will lose with 11 skill. I was right about minuet zero loss there.
I go from 523 to 512 skill. According to wiki I will lose two march tiers in that case. I could make up for it in other slots but not sure I want to give up my fast fast items and earth staff.

I would go from 519-525 - 116/1024 (11.33%)
to 506-512 - 114/1024 (11.13%)
That is .2% haste loss total. But (possibly) I gain a lot of survivability with resist gear.
