A couple of nights ago, a friend and I were killing Usurper for Ocelot Legs. Imagine my surprise when a CoB dropped (I seriously didn't look up +2 items, we just wanted Ocelot legs) and finished my stack for legs +2! 
I am now 5/5 on bard +2!!

I'm planning on doing both. G-horn for the +3 to all songs for the first 2 songs and D-harp for the 3rd song. I have already started collecting the iron plates and colorless souls. Now I gotta stop selling currency!

I think I have 3 plates and 5 colorless souls, lol. Like I said, it will be a slow process. But we are also working on DD empys. Once this next one is finished, I think I will concentrate on getting the iron plates done. I plan on going the procless method, go in, pop, kill, rinse and repeat.

If you're going to have help from an LS or friends (as opposed to making 'seal runs' and locking plate drops and VNM popping rights), I'd recommend working on your souls first and foremost. There is plenty of time to kill between Chione/Gamayun/Koios pops to kill Ironclads for Plates and Khimairas for Horns. As it stands, I've got 38 souls with 50 plates and 43 horns between t2 pops.
As for the future, I'd say that Daurdabla will definitely pick up the pace when it gets upgraded to 4 songs. Good thing we don't have to pick only one!

I do have help from friends and ls mates. We have been killing the tier 3s whenever we have a pop and are doing something else in the zone. That is why I have more souls (added a few more this weekend) than plates. One of these days I would like to get serious about it and just spam kill stuff, but there is always someone that needs something in the LS and I like to help others out, so that is where we end up going. Our LS is fairly small and everyone's play time varies greatly, so for now, I just take them when I can get them.

I meant the fact Daurdabla's got the stringed AoE radius you're looking for, so you can inventory +1 by ditching Nursey if you don't care about that small boost to duration. I plan to do so myself once these last 20 horns come in :o.

Yeah I dunno. I've had that harp for so long. Obviously it was much more valuable before Horde II but that's still a difference between 60 seconds and 72 seconds. For most things I run at 60/80 (I usually keep DT set/extra staves in satchel) so it's not a big deal to have to carry 3 instruments.

MR stacks up pretty well against evis/exen if you don't have any 'real' ws gear because you can just toss on your CHR instead!

Maybe it's just where I take my BRD, but Horde duration limitation really hasn't come up since Horde II came out... Hypothetically speaking, the only place I can imagine missing it if I were on AoE sleep duty, plus didn't have any space to maneuver and put ground between me and the horde to be ready to resleep, plus so many/difficult adds that they wouldn't all be dead or off me when they awaken.

Finished my Carnwenhan yesterday. It's pretty cool but its base damage at 75 is just so horrible. Also my elvaan's gorilla arms obscure it from view in town.

Finally got the first upgrade done to my Pyf harp (50 iron plates.) x_X 75 colorless souls is gonna suuuuuuck....
I think the nicest advantage of Empyreans is that, when I told my LS I was down to needing 9 plates, they agreed to just get 'er done that night. A few hours of farming later and we were just done. Dynamis stages never worked like that, and still quite don't work like that due to the 2 hour time limit.

Colorless souls are as easy as they have ever been. Koios is very soloable and Gamayan/Chione are very straightforward duos (soloable by some jobs). Colorfuls are more easily obtained as well.

I'm still sitting at like 8 souls and 3 iron plates. We keep talking about going out and just spamming the hell out of the IC in Altep, but never get around to it.

Crazy! When I say almost, I'm still like 80 skill levels away, LOL, but for string, that is definitely almost! I accidentally dropped my Picollo and there weren't any on AH for quite a few weeks, so I purposely put a harp in my threnody macros until I could replace it. It totally helped my skillups!

Got my 75 G~Horn on Friday night! Like I mentioned up above, it would be a longer process then those that are pumping relics out in 30 days, but I don't care!!! Now for the trials. I have also changed LS's in the meantime and as soon as they heard I was working on G~Horn they announced in LS that if anyone had some spare time, they should start building some T3 pops in Aby for colorless souls for me /blush

On a whim I picked Sagasinger for my possible Rank II prize, because I didn't think I was actually going to win, and hey, career bard and it's a sword with "singer" in it and bard can equip it! And I didn't recognize any of the other gear.

Major achievement: Got into an Arch Dynamis Lord static with nothing but Relic weapon users. since apparently i'm the only bard on my server! So yay. (My bard actually is not that special, so that is amazing ...)
I finished my first neo-Salvage piece. I went with the Marduk body first because I missed the look. It's 10 fast cast and 2 refresh so it comes highly recommended.

Grats on that. Make sure you 99 it before you 99 your Ghorn, you won't be sorry.
Even with 99 harp I wasn't able to cap string for months (it didn't help that you couldn't use harp for lullabies at the time). String skill may be important if you don't always overwrite your harp songs with Ghorn songs, but you'll be able to get by most of the time.

At this point I'm just hoarding money (stashed away 8 million doing half assed farming.) I'm hoping either one of my old HNMs will let me back in when I finish my master's degree this May (since I have one useful shiny and I'm 75 horns away from a second useful shiny and I'm happier playing mage jobs anyway) and I'll be able to rebuild LS points and use that to buy myself some Arch DL kills for the horn. Then I can continue to hoard money and plates for the harp.
