BST AF Weapon @ 40...soloable?Follow

I'm just about to hit 40 and Combat Caster Axes are sold out, so I'm looking at the BST AF weapon as an alternative.

Is the quest for that weapon soloable? I have a feeling I can take on the Gigas near the Qufim entrance and I hope they drop the key, but would I then need to switch to my 50 War/Dnc to use Spectral Jig to get up to the chests?

Is it uber terrifying to be up on levels 8,9 and 10 at level 50 w/o gear (pretty much sold it all when I was done leveling WAR...)? Is it navigable without other special items/keys to get from floor to floor?

I looked at the BST Index (or w/e) and the only AF "walkthrough" I saw only talked about the armor.

The mobs that drop key are Gigas Wallwatchers, Gigas Stonemasons, or Gigas Kettlemasters in middle delkfutt's tower and they are 32-34 so they should be no problem to solo with jug pet. Also I don't believe the treasure chest is located near and of the higher level mobs that should give you any problems.

I believe some of the mobs in Upper tower drop as well but they are a little higher level.

Wiki says you can open the chest on any job. (Typical for key items/quest items, I think.) So, do whatever's easiest. I'd probably do that part as WAR/DNC if I were in your shoes, because I hate spending money on stealth if I don't have to. And with that level difference and the amount of healing /DNC can give you, you're probably fine with any random stuff you've got around for equipment, as long as you don't link everything in sight.

You really can solo this as level 40 bst.

The Gigas that drop keys are level 32~36.

That is not be a problem for a level 40 bst. There are bats you can charm in the tower or use an NQ jug pet. Be careful of links, and don't fight more than 2 at a time. Remember to linkless pull if you need to pull stuff out of a group to get by.

On level 10 the corridors are narrow and a bit tedious maybe, but with careful pulling sneaking around and minimal snk/inviz potions (I didn't use any) you can get the chest even if is on the 10th floor. 8th and 9th floor chests are not a problem at all.

That was WAY easier for my 50 war/dnc to do than I was thinking. Biggest pain was travel. Lot's of stairs, twists, turns and teleporters to take. Even soloed the Hundred Fists NM, Mighty Strikes NM and Eagle Eye Shot NM and got the Delkfutt Key for one of my upcoming missions :)

It's also a pretty nice Axe if some A$$hole on your server decided to look at the Price History for Combat Casters Axes, saw that it was 10k pretty steadily but decided to put it up for MORE than the highest shown bid (15k) when it's the only one in stock.

Luckily I got the +1 for 10k, so I'm a little less peeved...it'll be nice to DW (I run /DNC) my +1 and this Barbaroi come 43. Also got a stack of Keeneared Steffi for when 43 hits for only 3k total :), so it's gonna be a nice easy run with Animated Flourish and Waltzes to keep threat on me while Steffi beats the puss out of all the unlucky bastard mobs I come across :)

BST level 40 AF weapon is the FIRST piece of AF I've ever gotten (played a couple times and quit a couple times before ever doing AF) and it's a nice one.

Most likely could have done it with my 41 BST/DNC, but I felt that getting aggroed less would be better.
