New BST weapon added in the update:

http://www.ffxiah.com/item.php?id=17966
http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Erlking%27s_Tabar

Stats listed:
Erlking's Tabar
(Axe) All Races
DMG: 41 Delay: 288
Mainhand DMG: 45
Lv. 75 BST

So far that's all thats said about it. I believe this is those new weapons that SE mentioned could have the special augments on them via a quest.

http://www.playonline.com/pcd/topics/ff11us/detail/4726/detail.html (At the bottom)

In the picture they show a DRK weapon with a DRK specific augment on it and a not-so-bad "Silence+7" on it. I'm wondering what kind of augments we can get on this axe. Possibly it'll enhance our traits like the DRK picture one and give something like:

"Killer effects+1%"

Or something like that, which wouldn't be BAD, just not great. Or quite possibly since we've been seeing all these new pet augmented items we could get a:

"Pet Crit Hit rate +3%"
"Pet Haste +2%"
"Pet Accuracy/Attack+5"

I dunno, just throwing out some randoms here of what would be pretty cool to see on it. As for the "Silence+7" thats in the picture, I'm guessing it has a pretty high chance of Silencing the mob is what I'm understanding from the pic. In that case, a "Slow+7" would be like having a higher damage Kabrakan's Axe or maybe have something else like "Paralyze+7" would be very nice.

So far, all basically speculation as far as I know. This could be amazing, or bust. I'm hoping for amazing here, I logged on about 5 min before maintenance and bought the only 1 I saw in the AH on my server. As soon as I find out how to start this quest I'll let yall know how it goes.

This will probably be the best BST weapon outside of the Mythic (which no BST has gotten) because the only other weapon with pet stats has +10 def. The damage rating/delay are almost irrelevant.

Depends on what you consider "Best Weapon" I guess. I personally am trying to max out my pet more than myself by gearing my Mirke (Pet ACC/ATK), and soon to have Anwig (Pet DMG-10%/??), aswell as having Herders. But I know BSTs that just gear themselves as WARs and look at pets as extra damage.

So for me and I'm sure a lot of BSTs, this will be a great item depending on the augments. For others I'm sure the DPS is a huge turnoff.

That's my point. It's the only weapon with offensive pet buffs, which makes it the best for any BST that isn't playing mini-WAR.

looks great as another weapon option for NM's other then Lion Tamer if you can get 2 pet augments on it like

"Pet Haste +2%"
"Pet Accuracy/Attack+5"

Would be great for a lot of NM fights or things I don't wanna engage directly.

As for fighting with it?? Mmm thats what gear macro's are for. But depends how the augments work out, may have potential as an offhand if there are any decent ATK augments.

I would trade this with IR pick if it augments

Attack +10
Pet Accuracy/Attack+5

Sort of a necrobump, but I finally after all this time got a chance to augment my Erlking's Tabar. Here's what I got:

Erlking's tabar
(Axe) All Races
DMG: 41 Delay: 288 Main hand: DMG: 45
Lv. 75 BST

DMG+5
Accuracy +4
Additional Effect: Slow+9

I couldn't find the other thread where people posted their augs, so I figured I'd just bump this one. I think this axe stacks up very good. Normally I main a Manny, or Wood/Manny if /NIN, but this axe might be able to replace Wood for main hand since its the same minus +4 STR. I'm going to go test and see how often this badboy procs. If it's halfway decent I might just stick with it even when /WHM.

That slow is pretty awesome. The enpoison I got is +3 and kicks in at least once or twice a fight so I'd imagine that slow procs quite a lot?

Here is the other thread by the way:

Yeah its pretty crazy. Basically it seems like the entire fight the mob is Slowed. At least 25% proc. This thing has made every NM fight since I got it noticeably easier. Carrie now last a whole lot longer, and every RR fight since I got it has only needed 1 Carrie. This thing is pretty OP imo.

Thanks for the link!
