No updates since Dynanmis night on Monday.

Attempted a few BCNM 40 runs, got a whole lotta CRAP! How bad was it? Let me put it to you this way.....BCNM 60 Up in Arms even when you don't get the KC to drop is more profitable. That's how bad it was. Nothing but a bunch of useless belts, lolTourney Patas that haven't sold, a Fire Spirit scroll. The most expensive drop I've gotten was a Scroll of Phalanx for 11k. Just the 3 Oxbloods you get from Up in Arms and sell to NPC is more than the total I've made from 80 Beastmen's Seals I've used up.

So yeah, I'm a bit PO'ed.

Well, I made a purchase!

Blew nearly all the rest of my remaining gil (I have 52k left) and purchased 60 T. Whiteshells I found in a bazaar for 9.5k each.

Total for 1st upgrade is now 177/300 T. Whiteshells

Siviard, best of luck on your project. A suggestion I'd like to make is that maybe you want to hold off your purchases and keep your gils until you are ready to upgrade. Deflation is still going on as we speak so it is likely that the price will continue to drop.

Honestly Siv, I'm surprised you aren't hitting up the fishing more. Unless time is an issue, I'm sure you could probably reel in at least 200k/day. Was reading that some people can make about 140k per day just NPCing fish so I'm sure you can do better on AH. I think you have the right idea with getting your cooking up. Consumable items are always good, in my opinion.

Yeah, I was considering fishing up a bunch of Gigant Squid for skill ups and profit. The only problem with that is the fact other fish bite on Minnow Lure that don't sell all too well (lolCone Calamary) and won't give me any skill ups.

Although, the bluetail that I can catch there do come in handy for fishing up Marlins (Pirate's Chart/Brigand's Chart). If I could ever get that damned Penguin Ring from the Brigand's Chart event I could seriously start going after Gugrusaurus and Lik and get my Ebisu Fishing Rod. Once that's done, I will no longer need my Woodworking skills and can then concentrate on cooking.

The reason why I fish in Nashmau so much is because both fishes that I can catch there (ToAU Grimmonite and Bastore Bream) can still give me skill ups. And also with the NPC close by, I can cash in right away as opposed to running the risk of getting undercut at AH by over-eager people wanting a fast sale of their Gigant Squids.

Ever try harvesting in the thickets?

or mining in Halvung?

thickets is pretty solid and bst friendly place to harvest. just make sure to /whm for sneak ect.

Halvung is a rough place where the only competition you will have is the mobs themselves. Exactly like it should be.

logging in mamook is suicide practically...

Considering I've got 75 BLM, I could do a manaburn party for exp/merits and when I see the Mining Point come up available near the camp, I could run and poke it right quick then resume manabombing puddings.

The only thing keeping me from mining is the fact that getting a Khroma Ore from Mount Zhayolm is compared to like winning the lottery and hitting the Powerball number. LOL

Trust me I've thought about it. I guess I could give it a shot and see what happens. I'd just need to familiarize myself with the locations of the mining points. Sadly, I only know of just 1 mining point, and what's worse....I don't have a Cast Iron Plate to open the big gate.

Go, go lolGuttler!

Sounds like this is a real challenge!

Hope you can do it, Siv.

Just another thing for you to consider! Maybe you should go Gustav/Ifrits/Boyahda sometime and solo some NM's-- the drops (vclaw from amikiri/tyrannic tunnok, tarasque skin from Tarasque, dragon blood in ifrits, Daihyanna from Ancient Goobbue in Boyahda, leshonki bulb from leshonki in boyahda). All can be solo'ed with varying difficulty. Amikiri is a bit of a toughie, though, and those scorps never drop the damn vclaw. But still. One or two of those = a day of farming if you get it, right? Either way it's gonna take at least a year plus. . .

Anyways.

OT: Hope leading LoTB2 is going well for you.

I am back in gil accumulation mode currently.

Over the weekend, I made about 140k just from fishing alone. However, I spent a bunch of money on wind crystals and bluetails to make bait for Bhefhel Marlins.

The reason why I am doing this is to get Brigand's Charts to obtain a Penguin Ring. With that ring I should be able to land Lik and Gugrusaurus and HOPEFULLY with some luck, get my Ebisu Fishing Rod. With that, I could then fish for Lik and Gugrusaurus continuously for profit, and also since it never breaks, I won't need my Woodworking anymore and could then concentrate on leveling cooking.

However....luck was NOT on my side. I went on an 0/61 streak trading Marlins to Zaldon before he finally gave me another Brigand's Chart. I go and do the event with a LS mate as support.....I'm now 0/14 on the Brigand's Chart event for the Penguin Ring....yet I read about people getting 2-3 Penguin Rings in a row.....orz...

omg! lol

The reason why I'm doing it is to open up another potential avenue for making gil.

1. Catching/Selling Lik and Gugrusaurus in an AFK Bazaar next to Zaldon in Selbina = Profit

2. Provides opportunity to level Cooking to 100 since I would no longer need Woodworking skill.

I am in no rush whatsoever to obtain my Guttler. I am, however, wishing to open up more potential income sources than the ones I have now.

Stable income seems to be the only thing which is against you Siv.

I really do suggest the NM killing. Even if you're not in a rush, it could boost funds.

Also added benefit you could 'farm beastmen seals' and such.

Sounds like the ebisu route will just put another year on it tbh lol.

Oh, wanted to add a lil' something else.

Yesterday I got 2 Brigand's Charts....didn't get Penguin Ring, but...

1st chart - Box (T. Whiteshell) <----w00t!, Box (1 Byne Bill)<-----w00t x2, Box (Wooden Flowerpot)<----30k @ AH so w00t!, Mob (argh!), mob (BLARGH!11!)

2nd chart - Box (Rusty Subligar) <----wtf?, Box (Rusty Cap) <-----omglol!, Mob (ARGH!) Box (O. Bronzepiece) <----w00t!

Nothing like freebie ancient currency!

Also, I just came across a really nice farming guide on the LimitBreakRadio forums. Gonna give a couple of those areas a shot and see what kind of gil return I can come up with. I'll report back with my findings.

hmmmm nice. I was gonna start on my Guttler, but decided to lvl another job first. I wanna get in a good HNM first before I even start. Heres some research I did when I was first thinking about it:

INGREDIENTS

Stage 1 -> 2 L. Jadeshell x3: 24m

Stage 2 -> 3 M. Silverpiece x14: 7.5m

Stage 3 -> 4 100 Byne Bill x60: 48m

Stage 4 -> 5 R. Stripeshell: 80m

{79.5mil to Stage 4}

TOTAL PRICE: 159.5 Million Gil.

EDIT: prices change every month for relic currency >_> so don't take it to heart that this is the set price.

Um......Montiont Silverpieces for 500k each? What server are YOU on? LOL

M. Silverpieces on Shiva normally go for about 1M a pop, so I'm looking at 14M for upgrade #2.

And on the first upgrade, did you mean 2.4M instead of 24M?

So far I'm 178/300 for first upgrade. I bought a 100cc for 875k off a friend from an HNMLS who had quit her Katana upgrade and was trying to sell off the currency. 60 of the 1cc coins I bought for 10k each (600k total), 14 of them I bought for 8.5k each (119k), and 4 of them were freebies that I had stolen off Yagudo mobs in Dynamis.

In total, I have so far spent 1,594,000 towards the first upgrade. That same friend is holding on to another 100cc for me for 875k, and I simply need to purchase 22 more T. Whiteshells to complete upgrade #1.

Estimated grand total for upgrade #1 is a little under 2.7M

Well, after speaking to the LoTB members....we're going through with it!

LoTB has now formed a Dynamis LS! "BeastsGoneWild"

(btw, Sig updated)

Had a long chat with the LoTB membership asking various questions regarding schedules, member sponsorships, LS bank, and recruitment. Everyone was in support of forming the new linkshell, and recruiting outside "normies" to build membership on top of the already existing LoTB membership who have Dynamis access.

Then not even an hour later.....

I contacted a friend of mine from an endgame LS called "AngelsOfApocalypse", and told him what was going on. He comes out and tells me that AoA had been considering merging with another Dynamis shell to grow and get better. They have currently about 30 members that do Dynamis in their shell. So add the LoTB membership on top of that and we're pushing close to 50. We still have to work out the kinks, but the one guy I had spoken to (who is a sackholder for AoA and a fellow BST) seemed STOKED about the idea of joining up with "BeastsGoneWild".

Now, come to find out there are FIVE people in LoTB upgrading stuff. Four are upgrading Guttlers, and 1 is upgrading a lolGungnirDRG on top of the two AoA members who are upgrading weapons as well (I think one was a Mandau and the other is an Excalibur) so there will be no shortage of people sponsoring runs for the next foreseeable future.

Man if this gets off the ground, this is gonna ROCK! BTW, BSTs are encouraged to come and show off their 1337 BST skill0rz. lol

Nah, seriously Shiva sounds expensive as for Currency. My dynamis shell lets Currency autosort, and if you're not after relic armour, you're allowed to castlots battle on 100pieces.

At least on Hades Whiteshells are 7k, Bynes are 5-6kish, Bronzepieces are 7k.
L.JShell are like 800k, 100Byne are like 500-600k, Silverpiece i've had trouble getting rid of for over 600-700k.

Thanks for the invite, but really no need. IF BeastsGoneWild gets off the ground and going, I'll be sponsoring runs all the way to my Guttler....and all I have to do is farm 1M gil. CAKE!

BTW, when I sponsor a run, in the case of multiple 100cc coins dropping I may keep those and sell some of the 1cc coins to build up funding for the next time I sponsor a run, which would help minimize the time I need to farm up gil.

Another thing I've thought of is dual-sponsorship. 2 sponsors, 500k each, split currency drops down the middle. Would help save cash.

Ok then, consider this. Running a dynamis ls or even sponsoring runs is counterproductive at your present stage of upgrade if your goal is to get guttler.

Now there are a huge number of reasons to do dynamis for fun, but if you are serious about getting guttler you have to be hard nosed about it or it just wont happen.

I can tell you from experience that a dynamis run will suck 4 or more hours of your game time for each run. I have gone to at least 50-60 runs and I have a pretty good feel for drops. Sometimes you will not get any 100 drops at all. This compunded by the fact that bastok coin and often windy coins are worth way less than sandy coins.

The economics are thus. 1 million gil entry plus 4 or more hours of time will sometimes net you a couple hundred bastok or windy coins if you do those starter cities. So basically you just wasted 4 hours when you could have been fishing, crafting, mining, harvesting etc.

The fact is, that if you are really dedicated to getting guttler, or really any relic, and you are doing the work yourself, doing dynamis before you have the currency to upgrade to ogre killer is just counterproductive because it is a very ineffecient way to get currency.

I.e. - id est, complete list of examples

Siv, have you asked anyone about KS99 runs? If you could get a speed belt drop from sponsoring a 99 that would be a massive chunk of change towards completing the project. I know some of my BSU guys have done KS99 recently... I'm sure Yoshime would be more than happy to run through a strategy with you. The key is communication! Jokes aside, you should look into it if you have an excess of seals or friends.
