Official DING thread for only BST!Follow

After around a year of hard work finally got to 75. I've taken a friend under my wing and been sync duoing with him too, almost time to hit up the GC again.

And on top of that I have to say that Korrigans rock, everyone wants me to join their skillup parties now in The Boyahda Tree. Those little guys are my new best friends (until I mischarm and get clobbered by a whole swarm of them) >.>

Ding 62! I also saw Aquarius up looking for the coffer and decided, what the hell I only have on level til I can use the Fransisca. So I started throw pets upon pets on him, got him to 38 or 39% in like 40 mins before a 75 BST ran by and offered to help me finish him off. I invited and she went and grabbed a korrigan and proceeded to rape Aquarius and now I have an axe for 63.

That was major fun, especially when I charmed a Robber Crab and checked it after I sent it at him, it was a VT! Got pretty lucky on that one.

Gaudy Harness!!

... Well the subligaria for it anyway, dropped late last night so I logged, will be doing the quest as soon as I log in.

Went 40-42 at the Crawler vs. Goblin Poacher camp behind the outpost in Yuhtunga Jungle last night, and wanting to try for my harness before upgrading my gear past 40 I decided I was ready. I used the guide linked in the "A BST Compilation" thread, but I have to say I was extremely nervous. I've always hated this zone (along with Sacrarium), and after having done a few group panty raids in the past I wasn't to optimistic about actually seeing a drop. But I viewed this fight as a sort of BST initiation and something I've been looking forward to since long before I actually got around to leveling my BST, so off I went.

-Warp Cudgel

Got to the Oil Slicks, and being pretty confident in my CHR gear (+30 with tuna sushi) as well as expecting a fairly difficult fight, I decided to target the IT one that was up. Tame (landed) -> Charm -> Familiar. Had to wait a couple mins for the Taurus in the big room to give me a clear path, got to the fomor room and the Hell bats were crowding the BST fomor. Waited a min hoping they'd move, but they didn't, so being worried about familiar wearing I pulled one ... er, make that two ... they linked >< My oil handled them without too much difficulty, but he was at around 50% after, so I threw him a pet food and used stay till he was about 85-90%. Got up, tossed my oil at the BST's bat and pulled them back toward the tunnel (this whole time I had thought that Diremites here agroed, so I avoided fighting inside the tunnel). The fight was surprisingly easy, I suppose I got lucky in that the fomor was only VT instead of IT+++ like I'd heard they could be, but regardless of why, he went down like butter.

So easy in fact that while waiting for him to repop I decided to pull the THF fomor just because I could (would like to level THF one day and that's a pretty nice JSE as well) ... chain 4!! Well anyway, I waited for repop but I guess I wasted too much time with the Taurus and the Bats, so with 2 mins left on Familiar I decided to Leave my Oil and log for 1.5 hours. And wouldn't you know it, a few seconds after I released my oil he popped! Oh well I suppose it's best that I used leave when I did because with only 2 mins left on familiar things could've gone horribly wrong.

Logged back on. Did some reading while away to see if I could've done anything better, turns out Diremites here don't agro, that's a relief. Ran back to the Oil slicks, and there was only one up o.O Did a search of the area to find that there were 3 BSTs there in a party together. Well I was a little concerned they were after the same thing as me, but I didn't see them in the fomor room when I logged back on, nor did I see them on the path from the fomor room to the oils, so I continued about my business figuring if they were in the fomor room when I got back that I would just concede it to them, it was about my bedtime anyway.

The oil that was up was a VT, Tame (missed) -> Charm (landed) -> Familiar. This time the Taurus moved right out of my way, got to the fomor room and the bats and BST fomor were a bit more spread out, but 1 bat was still in my way. I pulled it and killed it. Go back to find the other bat by the BST fomor >< Gave it a minute and they spread out. Pulled the BST. Had a bit of a "woops" moment, tried to hit my reward macro while still fighting the fomor's bat, accidently hit heel instead, took me a little while to realize why this bat was lasting so long (like I said, it was past my bedtime, plus I'd had a couple beers while waiting for Familiar to be back up; at least it wasn't my leave macro that I'd hit). Eventually figured it out, but hate was messy throughout this fight because of it.

Got the kill, and would've had enough time on Familiar to kill the repop as well... but OMFG DROP!!!!

All together I used 8 Zetas, 1 charge on my Earring (first charge was still up when I logged back in), and 1 charge on my Cudgel.

Sorry for the long post, but wow this makes me so happy ... I would say so happy you can't imagine, but I guess most of you who've done the same probably can ^^

Finally. Started right before the Ps2 release, took 2 years off inbetween, but I finally got it done.

After taking nin/bst to 37 I don't think I'm going to be meriting anytime soon. I had too much fun. Going to try my hand at blu/bst next.

I am officially 75! Now it's time to merit and do some skilling up!
