Hello RNG community,
I've been a long time looker, occasional poster. RNG is my first Advanced job and will always be my favorite.
Now my question, anyone do any testing with this new staff (one made from all the HQ staves and synergy)?
Reason I ask, I made mine last night...failry difficult synergy craft solo, but not too extreme. I was wondering that due to this staff combining multiple staves stats (STR, AGI, DEX, etc.) is it a complete replacement for my Vulcan's staff. I'm not sure if it's a "hidden effect", but the new staff does not have Ratt +10, like the Vulcan's does.
I plan on doing some testing later this week, when my LS does our VW runs...bought the only time I get to play RNG these days...so sad.
If anyone has both, and has done some testing please reply with your results. Hell, even if you have the new staff post some numbers...I can still remember for the most part what my damage was (WS and normal shots) with the Vulcan's. I have a Yoichi, so I usually spam Namas Arrow in VW, unless it's Archery for procs.

New Chatoyant StaffFollow
It's not a hidden effect on it. The only "staff specific" stats that carried over from the HQ staves to the new Chatoyant Staff is the Cure Potency and the Mp Recovered While Healing. It doesn't have the -PDT from Terra's, the Att/Ratt from Vulcan's, the Eva from Auster's, etc. I believe that it'd be the new best for Wildfire and Last Stand for marksmanship, and I would assume the same for Apex Arrow, but I don't know whether or not the AGI would make up for the loss of Ranged Attack for something like Namas Arrow.

Thank you! Kinda what I thought too. Looks like I'll be picking up a Vulcan's and Terra's staff when the market stablizes a bit more. Appreciate your repsonse!

No need to ever get a Terra's staff. Pick up a cheap Earth staff for the sam -20 pdt.
As far as Vulcan's vs. Chatoyant:
It comes down to AGI 5, DEX 5 vs. Ratt 10
So for WF its superior and for Last Stand and Jishnu's its probably equivalent.
Both Vulcan's and Chatoyant are inferior to dagger options for all but WF esp if /NIN or /WAR. So the only current role for Vulcan's is if you are a relic bearing RNG/SAM, which seems silly since if you have a relic WS, why would you not be going /WAR for berserk and fencer bonuses?

You make great sense Dart, /WAR it is! So long Vulcan's staff...I will miss you, lol. And I'll pick up an earth staff, much cheaper option for the -PDT.
