Archery Merits 4/8 vs 8/8Follow

Go all archery or all marks. Half-and-half is a waste (unless you are seriously a career RNG and you want 8 in both).

As a career ranger with 8/8 marksmanship and archery plus both my hope and faith torques i can tell you that every bit of skill you can pump into them matters. i'm the only "serious" ranger in my LS and it shows in every parse. that you already have a hope torque would make me lean more towards telling you to go 8/8 archery. however, like the others said, figure out what you do most. look at where you stand most of the time in relation to what you are fighting. if you're always far away, 8/8 bow is the way to go. but expect it to be pricey, eurytos', kaburas.... if your with a melee heavy group, marksmanship may be more your cup o tea. also pricey with hellfire+1 (possibly dragonmaw) and silver bullets. if you fight weaker mobs that you can get acids to stick on, or, part of the newer breed of "budget" rangers, crossbow ftw. I can tell you that i utilize all of them almost equally... It's nice to be prepared to do optimal damage regardless of the situation.

Thanks for the tips guys. I guess I'll be doing 8/8 Archery because SE are asshats and won't allow us to have more than 2 jobs worth of merits, and also because I already have Hope Torque, and just picked up PPA.
