trying to get back into the swing of things since coming back. need some guidance on minor issues.
1) resolution is bought/paid for, however still need 30 skill to use. in the meantime, using Nirastamo scythe was cheap and doesn't instant kill stuff i'm trying to proc on in dynamis (went drk/dnc with a friend that basically lives there, when i go solo i'll be blu but twilight scythe was dropping sh*t left and right and was annoying). tl;dr: straight up 5 hit with /sam and 24 STP or a 6/5 split for 528 delay weapon? the 5 hit is rose/brutal/rajas/hoard/ace's feet/goading; the 6/5 split would be dropping hoard for whatever str/att/acc combo ring i can find. on drk aside from some voidwatch, mostly i party with friends/bads so regain isn't really something i see a lot of. i will have some more options in the next few weeks but i came back broke so need some time for dyna/fishing to start accumulating some capital (white talthum is like 1.5 mil still on my server).
2) good GS for resolution spam, outside of rag/empy? i'm looking at jingjang but they're not up often.
3) there's a boatload of new gear out there and i haven't been able to sort it all out. aside from NNI (we are moving some friends through assaults for captain rank so that's out right now, but that gear is straight up sexy retarded and is my next target) what should i be looking for from voidwatch? my gear was high-average before i left, i feel pretty outclassed now (bale +2/calmecac legs/aces feet/goading, etc). some suggestions for target priority would be helpful.
4) i was reading some of the threads from the last year and someone (realix? i think) had mentioned one of our JA reducing dark magic recast time but i can't find anything else on that. was it conjecture about an update that never arrived, or did that turn into something?

Don't worry about minutiae of your Scythe setup. 5-hit is 5-hit now, nobody's gonna flibberdyblip over defining splitbuilds and whatnot because that's how every GS build operates with Reso. Also you're in the 75 era mindset of squeezing tenths of a percent out of everything when you're swinging a scythe which is easily 20% behind an AH GS to start.
Gearing for regain is f*cking stupid. That's part of the Embrava nerf I can live with.
W.Tath is dead. You should be looking to get a Hagneia Stone for just about any top tier weapon.
OAT GS foo. Thought we'd been over this. Else just get a Gram which is in 'sidegrade alley' with Hoarfrost and junk.
You'll want Ace's Mail from Voidwatch if you don't yet have it. 4% haste body is kinda critical for some builds I'd suggest. Mekira Body from Kaggen worms it's way in here and there. Mala, Ogier hands (and other bits), plenty to get from VW still. Don't bother with neo-slavage except maybe to farm alex for cash.
After they normalized the recasts, extra Dark Seal merits reduces the recast time of the spell you use it on, but for that you'd only care to use it on Dread Spikes which is wasting half of what you'd be using Dark Seal for, plus adding JA delay to a 'need it now!' spell. This pales to an extra 5 accuracy and 6 seconds duration per merit on Diabolic Eye with Relic+2 hands. so 5/5 DB 1/5 DS 4/5 DE is the norm now even for DE haters like me. When it was JUST duration or JUST less -HP% and Relic+2 head was surmised to affect Drain II as well DE was plainly the more appealing option.

i have spellcast; gearing for regain takes me about as long as it takes to write a buffactive line; it's not an issue. honestly at this point i don't have many gear options to swap for it; the hoard ring slot is really the only slot i'd put something else in anyway. i dont have anything better on me than ace's leggings for that slot and i don't have the big haste belt yet. things for the future. hygene rock is already on my list, think it was 3 millionish so take me a few days. thanks for the heads up on the GS, i'll look into them.

That's what I mean. The gear options to swap for regain sources other than Embrava pretty much boil down to the same has having that tiny extra fTP from just ignoring the regain entirely. It's not like you're gonna find some effective attack or accuracy (like if you changed feet), but instead maybe that 1% DA ring (Would be 3% from Duplus Grip, but you can't swap that).
Using Regain to shore up your x-Hit so you can swap accuracy gear in... do you see the silly if that were the case?
Apoc is even funnier when you start looking to 4-hit it. You think "Oh, I can swap out haste and put more Store-TP in"... but then you find that all the best STP pieces put you at 25% haste anyway XD
I'm telling you: I sense a dated mindset here. You gotta break away from picking at little sh*t for now, especially when you don't actually have an attack/accuracy target (nor do those even really exist currently, you either cap or you don't and new events are too dynamic and demanding to work out their stats beyond the hilarity that is Crit Evasion.)
It's all about the big items now, not the little ones. The differences in gearing two weapons (Like Rag vs OAT) isn't just Hands, Feet, Ring anymore. It's more like twelve slots and it changes just as much again when you're getting capped magical haste.
Probably better to just post what you've got. That's the other bit about OAT vs Rag: You can gear OAT with a multitude of setups depending on what's available, so it grows with the gear you get, while Rag is pretty demanding of high-grade multihit pieces like Mala and Windbuffet and scoffs hitbuilding.
