Ok, you're right. I'm wrong. DRK shouldn't have sword capped. We need to follow this thread exactly the way you have it or else we are less than average. People that think my way or the highway are always right. There's never any grey inbetween.

Actually, if you really want to be technical, since I'm an ELA minor and Adversiting major, it could be both. Post all you want, nobody cares and nobody has any want/need to attack you;, you're wrong on some things, you're right on others, big deal. Your "opinion" was considered despite the way you presented it, it gives info about other weapons, subjobs, choices, etc. Can you sub NIN at 75 and DW? Of course, but you're not going to outdamage yourself if you were subbing NIN w/a Scythe. Do you have to use Tredecim Scythe? Nope, but for 95% of DRK's its better than using another one, alot of it is playing still. Theres many ways to play DRK, hell, I don't even follow the guide completely, either does Renzou, its just a over-simplification of things due to lack of time. In time, it'll be completed, but as you are with High School, I'm busy with college, work and training; as for Renzou...well shes just Renzou

Another thing for you to note is that alot of the people who have 1k+ posts have had there account for a year or more. I'd like to see when mine started, I think its been over 2 years easily but I could be wrong. Will check back later when I wake up at 3 or so. GO CHIEFS.

Were on my guide does it say "follow this thread exactly the way you have it or else we are less than average"? A guide is simply a guide, a means to help you on your way, the basics of how to do the job, to be better then average is to already have a full understanding of the job before you reach the peak of your DRK career. Most ppl don't know how to play the job, therefore the average DRK doesn't know how to perform the best, this guide helps you perform better then your average idiot.

Aside that, all you can argue about was sword when I said you can level sword for spirits within, but for use of piercing give me a god damn good reason you should use a Piercing piece of sh*t sword over a greatsword that doesn't have slash but instead blunt dmg? Sea mobs that resist slash, can be hurt by blunt can't they? OMG!!! You have no valid argument, you have opinions and thats great, play the way you want. But you have no valid argument against Me + Disifers guide(along with a bit of tweaks and adds from Ferriion, skyra, etc..). What you say is "better" can be subbed by another weapon or job or whatnot and still outperform what you specify as being needed.

When you have a valid argument against me or disifer, then come back to me. Until then go jog some more, or go to sleep, or go to class or w/e, or even continue to post your opinions. Everyone else posted their opinions here and they didn't get shot down, the reason you got shot down was because of your know-it-all attitude coming onto this forum thinking you can throw your weight around because you got sword capped on DRK. Woot woot. If you came on with a different approach, maybe you would have gotten a different kind of response.

Does the "G.R.O.W U.P." thing you types have an abbreviation or something lol, or did you just add the periods between each letter for the hell of it >,>;; idk i'm bored so i asked lol

Well I am close currency wise but took a long break from dynamis so don't got the weapon items. As for my weapons. When I get Ragnarok Yes I will prolly hand down my Balmung, Balin's, Martial, and Gold Algol+1 to my friend Bloodnangel.

Renz, you're trying to get a Ragnarok? Do you already have an Apocalypse or something? Dont tell me you're going Greatsword over Scythe!!

Cool, if that's the case, I think the Breeze Gorget looks nice for Great Sword. Also, since I have the thought that I should probably, when all is capped and good on Scythe and Great Sword, work on Great Axe, it works for Steel Cyclone.

Would that be a good second choice? Or should I look for another?

I should have put something saying excluding Riddill, even that is a very controversial subject though. I'm very interested to see how a Riddill will perform with war sub instead of nin, which is the only sub that I personally have heard tests being done with.

You have a Gold Algol+1 o.o? What do you do with it lol? And what do you do with Balmung :s?

Very true Basil, but we're now talking about using a Riddill without shadows, so now you have nothing protecting you once the mob does turn towards you. Not to mention that using a multi-hit weapon with Souleater is going to make your mages cry, even if the mob is attacking some one else.

...and yet I still do it from time to time just to give my friends a hard time (healers). A bored DRK is a dangerous thing, not only to himself but the MP pool of a healer. XD

Great work so far, but I had a suggestion on a sub group for stun. Teach these new drks when to stun. There are far more uses than just interrupting ancient magic and -ga III spells. There are a hand full of mob weapon skills that we can stun to make life easier for the entire party. Goblin bombs most people know. Goblin rush is one that most drks (that i've seen lately) ignore. No, you can't stop them from doing it, but you can give the ninja a break on trying to put shadows back up after. No matter the situation, goblin rush wipes 3 shadows. Please use stun after goblin rush, help out your ninja. Pecking flurry from Colibri's is another similar shadow clearing move. Stun after you see this. It makes a huge difference. Whirl of Rage from weapon type mobs is a good one to stun also. Or just stun even if you see ichi being interrupted. Or the tanks hps dip into the red. sometimes the healers need another second to cast. you have a spell, help out your party with it. There really isn't a bad time to stun; it's going to help pretty much any time you cast it. I'm sure there are a hand full i'm leaving out but this was just thought that hit me.

Lesser Colibri don't reflect. I've been stunning after every peckling flurry.




Ridill = death because theres a level of damage that makes you pull hate, then lose it, and then theres a level of hate that keeps the mob glued onto you no matter what you do and you're perma tank.


Ridill swings so much, and hits hard enough, that you never really get the mob to lose interest in you, whereas with 528 delay scythe the mob has a nice amount of time to forget you exist.

All that aside, you have the basics down, its your understanding of the game I deplore, and your inflexibility of the job and its uses I deplore.

Oh yea, edit: I read some other parts, and well your overall egotistical and elite attitude is very annoying, hell I'm just racist against fictional races, your a complete @#%^ to your peers for branching out.

Dark Knight is not just spike damage, its the alter-ego of the red mage as well. You can make it a crazy spike damage (or wave) dealer, or you can make it the most versatile melee in the game. You neglect to mention those parts.

Ooooooh, I see entertainment. Entertain me saikio, I need to get a good laugh. But seriously, your aspects of DRK are amastuer at best. You think you know everything and that because u have other things capped and other subs done it makes u better then average. Wrong my friend, being able to play the job itself to the best of its abilities is what makes u better then average. 95% of DRKs do not know how to play the job, therefore being better then the average DRK is jus knowing how to do the job correctly.

But hey Saikio, thank you for putting my name in your sig, and thank you for bumping my thread some more for others to see =). Me and Disifer appreciate your help in keeping out thread bumped up.


PS. Coming to your server? You expect me to go and level DRK over there? LMFAO........ Am i seriously gonna waste my time leveling a new character in your server jus to prove a 2-3min fight and then have a useless character on phoenix, or you plan on me to migrate and lose all my friends, ls, and stuff i got here? I wasted enough of my time in my life playing this game, and i wasted even more time acknowledging your existance by replying to your post.

It isn't that often I meet a DRK who doesn't know how to play DRK. :s

Unless you want to get into incredible detail but that's going into things like God armour, Sea, Dynamis, Limbus etc. and not everybody has access to that, doesnt mean they don't know how to play DRK. :S

Oh, wait, I'm sorry, that was just that one time I was trying to boil my eyeballs with my torch lighter, not me playing WoW. Phew, honest mistake.

I actually did try it for a couple of weeks. Wasn't my thing, so I bought FFXI instead.

My opinion may or may not change depending on whether or not what I'm told about the drama inherent in endgame is true or not. It's not that I'll quit FF, it's just that I have a low tolerance for bullsh*t and I'll most likely be banned for an "unsociable attitude" if I encounter the type of sh*t I'm told about in Endgame LS horror stories.

Well at 60 it opens up a bit. WAR/SAM is great but depending on whether its a NIN tank or not could be a little deadly at that level; with a PLD tank you'd be better off, really until about 64 partying with Ninjas is a little dangerous unless its somebody who knows the job well which may or may not be the case; same goes for /WAR. /THF isn't practical till 65/66 and in all honesty isn't too practical at all anymore unless you're in a SC party, but again an SC party is better left /THF at 65/66. I don't see too many SC parties around these days but they do exist. Also, /DRG is great but seeing you didn't list that may not be an option, its something to be considered.
