Multi hit GaxeFollow

Hi all

I am just coming back and getting my war geared back up, so please bear with me buti am trying to read up on new gear and abilities as much as I can.

What really has my interest peaked is the multi hit Gaxe I see. Especially the oat 2-3 one I saw on wiki. My question is more about delay and useful ness than anything. From what I see the delay is 514 on that Gaxe which is a little higher that what we normally have. Does anyone have that a e in use to do some testing? Or have they been out long enough for anyone to get?

Anyway, just seems like a oat 2-3 Gaxe with high delay could go with a mythical 5 hit build AND still support a lot of haste in a TP set too. I am no math guy and defer to the experts but my goal in game right now is to have the oat 2-3 Gaxe eventually with as much haste and DA as I can get. I used to love my joytoy and manny combo just be aide of the insane TP building ability.

I was actually thing of going axe/axe too but it seems more practical to keep Gaxe just because /Sam is just so powerful these days. Great for xp burn and great for higher level end game stuff. But getting the multi hit ace would be a load of fun as well.

The OA2-3 Great axe is a bad weapon, and not one that you want to bother with (our Double Attack barely helps it, its DPS sucks, TP overflow is an issue, low base damage for WS). The OAT Great Axe is a pretty bad weapon as well (Double attack is worth less due to OAT, lower base damage for WS). If you were going to get one from that set of paths, you'd want the Double Attack+% weapon.

Maschu +1, STR/ATK Path, DA+9%, the Metatron GA from the Corpse are the four non-Empyreal/Relic options worth considering, and the last one is the only non-magian option.

I'd do the OA3 one as well. I just enjoy the whole "ATTACKING LIKE A RABID SQUIRREL ON SPEED" thing. Swordchucks was really the most fun I had

I have the OA2-3 scythe and even with 56 base dmg its pretty brutal. The multy attack DA and TA proc a lot if i had to guess i would say 80-90% chance of multiple attack and an even chance of either DA or TA. Drk dont have crit hit ws and im still doing 1-1.7k dmg per ws inside abyssea. could only imaginge what a war would look like spamming KJ every 10 sec, we can already build tp that fast because of retaliation. would probably end up WSing with 200-300 tp most times.

I personally dont think there is a better choice of weapon when it comes to magician system. It more about what kind of grind your willing to endure for the end result. IMO you can't make a bad choice of weapon because there aren't any.

So I have resigned myself to go with the Gaxe route and just play with the axe when I get extra time and I am helping the LS.

I am also going to go the multi-hit route, still undecided between the OA2-4 or jus the OA2 for the higher base damage. Had an interesting party in Abys the other night where I could go /sam and even with my crappy Gaxe I got now I was WS pretty regularly.

Anyway, both of the Gaxe I want have 514 delay. I was wondering if someone could help me figure out how much STP I would need with that Axe to maintain a 6 hit with /sam and if it is even feasible for a 5 hit (working towards Ravager's Lorica +1 right now for that extra 5 STP and it seems to be better than Perle or normal berk for TP at least). Maybe also comparable STp neeeded for if I still go /nin.

I am figuring for a strong 6 hit build as not to sacrifice stats since I will be WS pretty often with the multi hit route.

I am sure there are better Gaxe to upgrade but with the recent flexibility of the game it would be nice to build my War the way I like and not be to gimp. Just love the multihit action, go figure.

Just as a side note, has anyone explored the thought of going /mnk know that we can get counter at 90? I know some of the high geared Nin I know go /mnk and can actually hold hate with RR/VV and counter. Would counter and retailation stack and might that be a decent pseudo tank build for low man stuff if main tank falls?

Little lost, what does that have to do with anything?

edit: I would assume you are talking about the above post saying that any magian weapon isn't bad, definately aggree with you on that one. I want to talk to the guy who said a MAB Gaxe was a good idea to throw in the game.
