How was DL?

Eh, we were in sky today and Faust was up. No PLDs were present so most people discounted fighting him. I was WAR/NIN and I figured what the hell, I'll tank him. I've done it before, however we had like 10 people. This time we had like a PT. People were a little apprehensive but we gave it a go. Was pretty fun and a definite challenge with NIN sub and not much besides Enmity, Voke and Warcry to rely on. I used Machauitl+1/Koenig Shield and used Spirits whenever I got 300 TP for more hate (which was surprisingly often)... seemed to work well, fight went smooth. My LS is used to working with WAR and NIN tanks though and thus has learned the concept of hate control.

Not a big deal really, but I find Faust to be a good challenge of hate holding ability... even moreso than gods and many other HNMs as you lose your hate much faster as he is pretty much unblinkable.

I deleved from a capped EXP buffer... then gained half back in 2 days/2 parties not really trying to exp, and I just died 3 times recently, ghetto warping twice :D.

And kudos for being a nice bro and helping your sister out(and yourself if she is your main healer, tbh).

Your gear isn't too bad actually, you have most of the basics covered and alot of the things you can upgrade to are R/E quest(or pop NM) items or such so take time or large groups to acheive.

Tanking Dynamis-Xarcabard two weeks in a row. Condemnation isn't that bad, but mages whine too much when they end up getting hit by it, when they position themselves in front of a frontal attack no larger in width then my character.

Went toe-to-toe for a good while with the two-headed Mamool Ja Besieged NM, who's name still escapes me to type(Gal Ja Ja, something?). I think he's a WAR/NIN, which made the fight even more fun. He cheats, though. He has to have Dual Wield V+ and spams Utsusemi. Recasting Utsusemi in the middle of a Dual Wield attack doesn't work as well with him, as it does with the other Dual Wield/MNK mobs.

Grinded it out against Devout Radol Ja, dual-tanking with another WAR/NIN. Fight took about 20 minutes with a party of 6, because his HP at 10% or less seems to regen a few hundred HP per tick, and gets worse the further he gets to death. 2 Wind Crystals for the effort.

Tanked the Astral Candesence recovery BC, on the same run where we encountered Devout Radol Ja, after he wiped out a alliance for the same purpose. No win, though. Nothing 6 people can do by themselves. It's a very well-designed BC. You practically have to have 18 people rotating in constantly to wear them down.

.3 Parry skill off Proto-Ultima. Last tank standing on Proto-Omega for the win. Saved from a long timer gap, by Omega changing from four-leg to two-leg animation, or else it could have been worse.

Capped off Warrior's Charge. Deciding what to do with the other 2 upgrades. 1 in Tomahawk already, but dunno if I want to keep on with that. Decisions, decisions...

Most recent action on WAR for me:

- Steel Cyclone: O
- G.swd up to 228 skill! 9 more until I cap it!
- Traded in a SH +500k for Hauberk. Now I can be sexy and still have a Haubergeon for level capped stuff.

I think I spend more effort gearing up my second string tank-only WAR job than my main MNK job. It's surprising but 2-handed weapon is so fun and a Mithra WAR is just soooo sexy. I can't help it!

I can't wait until I cap g.swd, unlock decimation, level to 75, unlock ground strike, and start beating stuff up and tanking stuff as my WAR. Sigh, it's still a long road though, but loving every second and gonna savor it too.

It was last week I think: tanked proto-ultima a bit as war/nin.

We were kind of screwed from the start since we had no brd at all in the alliance... hurt also that the pld didn't go /nin like I asked him to and ls people wanted my war for some odd reason and wouldn't let me just go pld/nin. The three nins we had didn't have more then 1200hp.......

We'd get hit for 300-400 from ultima's melee and since no elegy/march/ballad anywhere our mages were hurting for mp a lot (rdms can only do so much, no cor either). I blinked away like seven or eight holy2's and stood my ground on two 1600dmg citidel busters with my hp topping 1980 but without a whole lot of +enmity (forgot some of my other pieces) and I still had hate to absorb the insta-cast holy2 afterward through blinks (never drew in another person after those two busters). This was my second proto-ultima fight and it lasted around 45 minutes... yeah, lots of pointless deaths :( . I hope they listen next time... It was sad since they were like war is great dmg yet there I am, no brd, hitting for 0 unless I had berserk up then it'd be like 10-20. The smn's avatars were hitting far harder/more often on their melee hits.... I went tutelary/mach+1 after about 20 minutes of trying in vain and just tanked/kited until the countdown (rdms were getting gravity on a lot).

I got a Pisces Subligar while we were farming keys in Sacrarium for CoP 4-3.

It looks very fashionable with AF body.

And by "fashionable" I mean "disturbing."

Broke my first 1k rampage on a goblin merc. W00T W00T. now I just need my tungi >.<

Obtained War Relic feet Saturday, that I can't use yet.

Learned that Magmatic Eruca can be chained to 5 consistantly in a lvl 66 party with only RDM,BLM,NIN,WAR with me doing ~55% of the damage every fight.

Took 7400 damage from Overthrow (Besieged: Vorjirzur the Valiant) and didn't survive. No idea how I even had hate for that, have to assume some unseen tank died just before it.

Nice. Any 14k Darkness SC damage to rival the Drks? lol
