What was nerfed is TH3 that some bst pets used to hav now it is TH1 only.
I personally wouldn't consider rdm a money making job in particular, but any job at cap can make money pretty easily.
Thf and bst are very good for soloing coins in dyna (duoing is nice too). Though since the cruor nerf dyna was really busy, and people can get really aggro in there. BST is good when your gear etc isn't as tricked out, it is a lot safer than thf and pets do really massive damage to lower leveled mobs, so kill speed is not bad even with mediocre gear.
THF geared up is probably slightly better, but it takes a lot pf work (and gil) to get there. The advantage of THF is it is more in demand for pick up groups than bst, which you will mostly have to work on solo or use another job for group content.
I've nevr really been into the bcnm thing so I can't really comment on that.
Exp is generally either in abyssea (around level 80ish and up unless keying) and otherwise most people do grounds of valour... So it is like lvl 15-35 gusgen mines, 35-60ish crawler's nest, and 60ish till abyssea the sewers under sandy... If there are groups running they will be there most of the time.
Otherwise look up grounds tome in the wiki...it lists pages and recommended levels, though I advise always using the high end of the range to guide you in what is good kill speed. (so if it says a page is from 21 to 25, the page is much better at 24 or 25 than at 21.. And probably good till 27 or so)
So grounds of valour gives you an objective (kill six sewer leeches or whatever) and when you complete the task it gives you a chunk of experience and once a day it gives you tabs and gil too. Tabs can be used to buy buffs from the book. The exp gradually grows as long as you stay in the zone till it is double the starting value.
You also get random buffs called prowesses that give you anything from haste, to cure potency to ncreased ws dmg to treasure hunter, etc. these buffs remain wi you (even on logging out) as long as you stay in the zone.
So whether solo or n a group, GoV is good.
