After being humbled at my first attempt in Abyssea as a Dancer, I've come to the conclusion I really need to put some more work into my gear. So at the same time, I'm revisiting my Scholar gear, which I know isn't the best, but has been fine for me thus far. After getting my 99 cap quest done last night, I figured one of the first things I need to work on is getting my enhancing magic as high as possible for Embrava (since we're all Embrava whores at one point or another!) And looking through the wiki, the magic number seems to be 500 to ensure you get a full power Embrava off.
However, I'm struggling to see how to actually get to that number - admittedly this is based off FFXIclopedia so may be out of date, but these are the items I can see and the effect they each have.
Base Enhancing Magic @ Level 99: 404 with Light Arts active
Full Enhancing Magic merits: +16 to 420
Fulcio Grip (Sub): +2 to 422
Savant's Bonnet +2 (Head): +10 to 432
Colossus's Torque (Neck): +7 to 439
Anhur Robe (Body): +12 to 451
Augur's Gloves (Hands): +5 to 456
Scholar's Pants +1 (Legs): +15 to 471
Rubeus Boots (Feet): +10 to 481
Merciful Cape (Back): +5 to 486
Cascade Belt (Waist): +3 to 489
Augmenting Earring (Earring): +3 to 492
That's still 8 points short. The two items below are items you can _possibly_ get augments on with enhancing magic which would combine to put you over the edge:
Aptus Earring (Earring): +2 to 494
Kirin's Pole (Main): +1~12 to 495-506
Am I missing something with this or to actually hit the magical 500 number on Scholar do we need items like Kirin's Pole and hope for a good augment?
