Hi guys, I've been reading a bit of black mages being able to solo certain Limbus zones, so my question is, how possible is it for Scholar to solo these zones? Obviously the loss of stun may hurt on some mobs, but I was wondering if anyone has attempted it, and what kind of success they had.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm currently leveling SCH to 75 and I'd like to know how SCH does in Limbus as well, for duo purposes (w/ a BLM) not solo. I would imagine the loss of stun isn't a problem really. The bigger loss would be manafont+AMIIs for quick kills and BLM's high elemental skill on bosses. I'd love if a helix spell could do something halfway decent to the boss NMs.

There was a post about a sch being able to solo the Behemoth Limbus. Cant find it due to this forum being retarded about using the search function.

EDIT: nevermind. Topic is in the first page on the SCH forum.

I just finished with NW just a few minutes ago..

With my Mid-High quality gear I could easily solo most of NW on BLM, and sometimes take out a behemoth. I don't have gaiters or Novio, or anything outrageous like that.

Since switching to SCH I find it a bit easier, although I admit I've done it less, and my skill as a player has gotten better.

The main difference for me is that the behemoths at the top are easier(For me).

Tonight's run went pretty poorly by my standards. I killed pluto(I was looking mostly for items), and it took 4 ghosts to open the vortex which left me with little to no time.

I got lucky on the buffalo and the first one popped the vortex. 3 bugard, 2 dragons, 1 behemoth.

I was at 40% casting on my blizz IV to finish off my second behemoth or I would have walked away with more coins, but all in all I ended up with 13.

Here's my original post on soloing NW if you want the in depth details of my first win.

In short, the answer is, it's very possible for sch to solo NW, and reluctantly possible to solo NE as well. In fact, I would even go so far to say that sch can solo NW easier and more successfully than blm can. That is just from my personal experiences though.

For the 2nd poster, duoing with another blm, should make zones such as NW and NE quite easy. NW should be a breeze in fact. I recommend saving your gems on the final floor of NW for alacrity rather than parsimony imo (except for the boss). This will give you faster recasts on bind, which is your 2nd key to successfully and easily taking out the behemoths.

You will also be able to handle zones such as temenos east and North (or west?) rather well too. Although unlike apollyon, temenos areas are more luck based and you have less chances of getting as far or clearing as you do in apollyon zones.

Just have patience if you don't succeed at first. When I tried the first time a few years ago, I died on the first mob. Don't let it get ya down, just keep trying, learning, and adapting to overcome the situation. Good luck! ^.^
