With all the light arts/dark arts switching, plus addedems (sp) that are only offered under certain arts setting and certain spells only given under certain addedemns, and penury, this job is obviously a bit more complicated/focused than most mage jobs where you dont have to worry about being set to certain arts to cast a spell etc etc, so my question is from 1 to 37, i was looking for maybe a few tips on what my macros should look like to make playing this job a tad bit easier.

The tip I found most useful was to make a macro with Addendum: Color in line 1 and /ja "Color:Arts" in line 2. That saved me quite a headache. With this setup you pop it once to get the right art and twice for addendum. Way better than having 2 macros or having addendum come on automagically which is what happens if it is second in the macro.

SCH23 and rising...

CRTL:
1--light arts
2--add: white
3--Penury
4--cure
5--cure2

ALT:
1--dark arts
2--add: black (in waiting...)
3--Parsimony

90% of my spells are from the menu at this point. the list isn't so big that you can't navigate efficiently from the list.

My plan for now is just to macro the various abilities, and perhaps the "essential utility" spells.

The best advice I can give is to plan ahead for spells even if you don't have them. A lot of SCH use and abuse the ability to swap palletes and/or books, and you don't want to make a macro set only to have to change it 50 levels later.

Group your abilities together, group similar spells together (cures, nukes, eventually weather and helices), and make liberal use of "/macro set X" where you can.

That Macro thread helped me out a bunch... a lot of good info. My Macros are:

Ctrl 1:
/ja Addendum: Black
/ja Dark Arts

Ctrl 2:
/ja Celerity
/ja Alacrity

Ctrl 3-9 are Nukes and dark feebs/magic

Ctrl 0:
/ja Sublimation

Alt 1:
/ja Addendum: White
/ja Light Arts

Alt 2:
/ja Parsimony
/ja Penury

Alt 3-0 are light feebs and cures

So if you want Light arts you use Alt 1, then hit Alt 1 again if you want to activate Addendum White. Then, each of the other JA's will activate depending on which arts you already have up. This will save you a ton of room in your macros.

Edit: I'm currently a 25 SCH going to 37 for BST and RDM sub.
