With the weather spells, do I need to cast them on myself to get the small bonus, or on the tank, so that the mob gets affected by the storm? I've heard both stories, and I usually don't have the time to test it in the party. Anyone know for sure?

Unless you're fighting something that steals buffs, there's no way to put a -storm spell on a mob. Smiley: deadhorse

Not the mob ><. I'm saying do I put the storm spell on the tank so that when the mob is facing the tank it becomes affected by the spell, because there were several posts in this forum that said something to that effect.

Or, do I just cast it on myself? That's my question.

When casting a spell the spell is affected by the weather on the caster. So yes you would cast on yourself.

I think you misread the "theory" about a relationship between changing the tank's weather and the mob gaining a weakness to a particular element found elsewhere on this forum.

The mob will never receive a direct impact from weather effects (or any buffs) cast on players. The mob only receives indirect impact (think en-spells or Protect). Weather spells only directly impact the players they are cast on.
