Yep, they've both been done. Not to death yet, but it'll get there quickly.

:P too bad BLU don't learn faster with a SCH in the pt.

Someone suggested "Study Group" for a nickname for BLUs trying to get spells...

Would a pt of 6 scholars work all that well? If not, this discussion is purely academic.

/em gets ready to dodge the tomatoes.

it may, they are decent nukers... and with 5-6 diff helix spells going at same time, i doubt mob would last very long... though i wonder if thats long enough for mob to whipe pt XD

In theory you could get a tank and 5 scholars, 5x 50 a tick would be 250 a tick dot. Tank vokes, 5x helix, 5x thunder III, rest while dot finishes anything that's left. Unfortunately I think mp would end up being too much of an issue but you never know, in theory mp should kill manaburn too but it works.

if the scholars breath fresh air enough outa the study rooms enough and have more excersise maybe they have build their body fit enough for the time to last that long against a mob for a book burn party i guess....

well scholar HP doesnt seem that great and their defensive spells don't seem too great imo so a <book burn/scholarship/study group/academicist; insert whatever> does not seem like it is possible yet, but though it is still too early to say but anyways

i would probly say around maybe 50-70 it can but from 70+ maybe not....

B nuking/enfeebling skill is not that great but will work ok. SCHs would want /RDM to have both MAB, Blink/Stoneskin, and gravity for manaburning. It works well if you pick the right targets. Book Burns have been pwning worms in low level zones for instance... But resists vs VT and higher are pretty bad, even for elemental merited SCH stacking as much INT as low level gear can provide. Might be better by 30 with Wizard's Earring and 3 merits active...

Hopefully SCH AF will have a lot of +10-15 Magic skills on it. Being mediocre at all magics is not really that great in a game where we tend to target IT mobs until merit levels.

i do see/feel that book burns do well in the mid ranges where their black magic does take a chunk off the mobs, such as in the 50ish pretty much at places where blm start to form manaburn, but the downside is that i see that would be around 70 or above it wouldnt work so well with mobs have so much more HP compared to what u would be smashing off in from 50 to 70

I'd call Sch/Pup the A.I. Specialist but that's just me.

Sch/Dnc... I might call it an undergrad rave PT...

or you can have Sch/Blmx6 and see smoke starts to raise from everyone's heads after 15min into discussion.

Sch/war = bully?
Sch/blu = Must be midterms, where are the SSRIs?
sch/rng = exchange student (or is that /nin - /sam)
sch/thf = starving student

sch/cor = cheater? or failure?

;) I like the Brain storm for a pt of Sch/blm

Here's a question though, if they're scholars why don't they see anything above a B+, without those Grimoires they'd be nearly failling.

If a mob attacks a SCH, wouldn't the mob be studying?

After all it'd be... "hitting the books"
