fail wasting 34MP like that. =P I get 1227/1229 (with nearly all AH gear)

Total Cost, aprox 120K, total effort on non-ah gear, slim to nil. How often I bother to convert with it, not very.

Dunno what that gets me in abyssea (prolly close to 1.5K or something) since I usally always go /DRK or /DNC, and if I go on /BLM my default set is a -pdt set so I never pay attention.

The trick is to just not lose it. Keep your mp gear on until you use the extra mp.

since I am now a cheater, I nuke, because as soon as I cast any spell my magic macros change my gear. So I either don't care about my 1300-1400 Converts (in abyssea) and just vert in what I have on, or I just waste 50-100 MP anyway. In the end with something like 19MP/tick on me almost all the time, and drinks and crap, I havent used vert in forever. (well i use it just not as frequently as I used to). I mean heck I can break 1K MP with a melee sub in mostly melee gear (if you count Walmart and Goliard as melee gear like I do.)

Switching off gearswaps is a pretty basic part of Converting.



You're wasting tons of damage potential simply by being too lazy to lock your gear in place before you vert. It takes one macro. Also, don't make the mistake of building your gear strategies around Abyssea; 98% of the game remains non-Abyssea zones, mind you.



That was /doze at 75. And why do you consider those melee gear? I don't know about you but both are in my inventory fulltime no matter what I'm doing.

Yours, maybe. There's plenty to do elsewhere.. I honestly can't think of a single piece of gear from Abyssea that'd do more for me than the Magian Staves+1 I'm making atm. As for idling, I have two main Idle sets I use (in addition to more esoteric sets), one for normal MP and one for higher MP situations that Spellcast automatically decides between when i press my reset/idle macro.. make it work for you, instead of just making excuses.

Well maybe I'm the minority here, but I always have something to work on.. standing around in town isn't something i do.

As for Abyssea.. I take a wait and see approach for a couple of reasons:

-Once the next expansion is out, the sellable gear from the previous drops in price to the point where it's better to just buy it than waste Visitant trying to get.

-As the level cap goes up, older content gets easier, thus requiring less Visitant.

-Trying to camp high-demand NMs has wasted more of my Visitant than anything up to this point; waiting til the rush dies down saves stones.

-Cap is only 85.. I'm pretty confident that some of this gear will become obsolete by 99. Why waste Visitant playing a guessing game with SE?

-New Abyssite with Heroes will make our Traverser Stones even more efficient. Why waste them all now?

Personally, I'd rather let the 2-3 months go by til next update and worry about it then when there's a lot less potential for wasted Visitant, while I work on a better upgrade elsewhere.
