Elvaan RDM- Which Is th Best Stratedgy for Maat?Follow

Since I'm fast approaching this fight I've been reading everything I can find and watching every video I can watch on ways people have won this fight. I've read 3 different suggestions and wanted to see if any others have experience or input on which is best.

1st I read is the classic sleep/nuke pattern (dispeling and enfeebling as needed) until you're nearly out of Mp and close with Chainspell nuke spam (usually Aero III).

2nd I've read is the run in, Chainspell and nuke spam right away. Sleep him when he Chainspells and let it wear off and then finish him.

3rd I've read claims that Elvaan and Galka can do to use their strngth to their advantage. Run in, stoneskin, blink, use a TP wing item and do your strongest WS on him. Then sleep/nuke and close with Chainspell nuke like the classic.

Has anyone seen/heard/used the 2nd or 3rd on Elvaan with any success or should I stick to the 1st option? Advice is appreciated.

I cannot imagine why anyone would want to do anything but sleep/nuke. Assuming no sleep resists (which should not happen with good gear, but are of course always possible), there is little risk of anything. Even asuran spam is impossible, since it will always cast a spell as soon as you wake it up (as long as you leave it sleeping longer than it's cast time), and you will be able to cast sleep between your nuke, and it finishing its spell (or just after, before it can get anywhere near you). Chainspell should not even be needed really, but i guess it never hurts.

If you consider yourself swift with your spells, macros, and reactions, I recommend Chainspelling right off the bat. This will help you get Maat to sleep the easiest to allow you to safely use your means of MP recovery (whether it is Convert or leveling up via an EXP scroll) and generally you should be able to finish the fight within the minute that Chainspell provides if all goes well.

If you do it this way, process should generally go somewhat like this:

-Run in immediately, fire Chainspell and spam Sleeps until he's slept (beware of Blink)
-If you went in immediately he should not have more than two buffs up. Throw 2 Dispels to ensure Shell/Blink are off (again, beware of Blink; even if you managed to Sleep him he may still have Blink up, and Dispel can either remove the Blink effect entirely or get absorbed by 1 shadow randomly. If necessary, throw a third Dispel)
-Don't go nuts buffing yourself; even the value of Refresh is questionable in a short-term fight like this. Just Stoneskin yourself, maybe Blink if you're paranoid
-Nuke nuke nuke. 3-4 of them should either get you to the point where your MP is running dry, Maat will Chainspell, or both. At this point spam Sleeps again until he's slept
-Either EXP scroll or Convert your MP back. If you Convert, determine based on your MP and Maat's remaining HP whether your should Cure4 yourself once or twice
-Nuke nuke nuke until you hopefully win.
