Not sure how big of an accomplishment this is but I managed to effectively tank as rdm.
Officially 0/29 on Zenith Mitts abj. I'm also next in line for item as well, but with my luck wont see it drop for another 5-7 Genbu's. Spent 3 hours on getting Gration pop item, critical break on synthesis. However I managed to "tank" the turtle /DRK after nin got hit with Double Attack > Tortise Stomp for 1K. Kept hate pretty soild for that so I feel good. Nice knowing I can tank sorta on gods in my mage gear XD. Managed to pick up my second aern organ solo as well, the drop rate is almost as bad as the lumber so I'm happy. Anyways, bump.

Just solo'd Garuda as a 74RDM/37BLM. Prolly not that cool in the grand scheme of things, but it was my first solo avatar fight and I'm proud as hell. Today I did Olla with my bro as 2x RDM/NINs. battle took about 1hr 20mins-1hr 30mins. Its actually very easy fight because each pot don't have much HP and they don't nuke much other than lv.4 spell or some useless spells (at least it did for me) the only problem with this fight is that when they cast Magic Shell so you can't use magic on them._. so you need to wait and wait until Magic Shell is gone>.< before you can do any dmg to them and the last pot like to spam it alot-_-;
So far this is my biggest Duo after Ix'MNK =)

Got NIN to 37 finally, so been having some fun with RDM/nin.

Well, went 0/31 on zenith mitts abj. even donated a winterstone to get it done. I donated a kirin pop set, 0/6 on wlegs, my life as a rdm sucks =/. Oh yeah 3x RDM drop in apollyon I couldn't use because I had cloth already, but another rdm took my temenos item and they were brand new to shell --;. Meh, just need to vent.

Dang, that was hardcore. I guess that someone who went dead and afk for the last 30 mins for Dynamis-bastok, thus making me lost my RDM gloves (which would make me 5/5) wasn't so bad after all. ^^;

Oh yeah, 3x BLM drop tonight in temenos, no one showed as BLM. DRG and PLD dropped to people. Oh and to top off the bad luck, I broke a stack of synths consecutively with no skill up. My luck has to turn.

Just hit 20 consecutive Dynamis runs with no RDM drops. 6 RDM primary lots in LS, all 0/5 except one 1/5 from prior LS. I want to shoot someone.
Edit: Also, we've kitted out two PLDs 4/5 and DRG, DRK, THF, SAM, NIN and BRD city pieces are now all going to freelot. Other jobs are mostly freelot. It's not like we have low droprates...God just hates our RDMs.

Rdm/blu, Protect/Shell IV, Stoneskin, Aquaveil, Phalanx, Haste, Enspell, Spikes outside of the arena, Coccoon inside, Sleep dragon, butcher the eye, slug it out with the dragon. If I could do one thing differently for that, I would have brought a meat jerkey to kill a little faster.

I would have to say that, after a year hiatus away from FFXI, I've finally come back and my accomplishment is STILL being in love with this job. It was my first job and I still love being a RDM! New goals include Meriting all my Tier 2 stuff and getting SEA. I also wanna solo Bune here someday...but that's down the road. I really enjoyed this thread. Bump.

A few weeks ago, I finally got my Merciful Cape from Ix'Mnk, which allowed me to break the 300 tier on Enhancing Magic. This, along with my completed PhalanxII merits puts it at -22/hit for my LS PLDs (When I'm not on PLD myself).

Finally ungimped my RDM by leveling my WHM sub. Now I can finally walk around without the ZOMGunleveledsub stigma. Which is nice.

Funniest thing... I played for 2 years, then took a year long break and got my toon back and started up again last night. 5 mins into playing again I see "need 1 more to get <Red Mage> <Artifact> <hat>. I instantly join up and we go and kill Miser Murphy once for me, and once for the other RDM.
Now normally I would just be like O cool!! but before I stopped playing and part of the reason I stopped was because I had been in 11 parties to kill him and EVERY time I died at least once and actually de-levelled almost a level and a half. Sometimes dying after being raised more than once in the fight.
So yea, easy for almost everyone but me, and I am dam proud that I bitc* slapped him TWICE last night and got my dam coin!

I know its not much, but been soloing morion worm at 41. Well, wiki says its soloable at 45 :p and there were a lot of higher players there that ended with much lower hp...

When I got this game I started out as a Red Mage, because I liked being able to cure myself and stay alive while swinging my sword against Bees in South Gustaberg.
It only took me 2 years, 5 months, and 27 days, but I finally achieved what I've been trying to do since Christmas of 2005:

First job to 75, and I got it in the best party I've ever played with in the two and a half years I've been playing. Chain 28 on Colibri in Bhaflau Thickets {All Right!} Went from 12,000xp from 74 to 24,000 into 75, including a pair of deaths (whoops). Guess it's time to go read the merit guide in the sticky again.
