So I've reached a point where grinding out a Magian is not what I feel like doing(and Empy are forever out of reach. Not a single one is worth the effort to -me-).
Recently I discovered the awesomeness that is Dancer through GoV leveling then Aby. I love the insanely fast pace Dancer goes at. I attack almost nonstop in Abyssea, and even out of Abyssea if I simply have Haste cast on me. My question is: What can I do solo?
Mostly I am looking for good examples of things to do that would be beneficial to myself or others. My friends (Nin, Blm, and Whm) make up the perfect setup, however the Whm does not have Aby ._. he also struggles with macros and speed at times.
I'm looking for things like Charyb, sky NM's, Sea stuff, ToAU missions(I'm only about half in, no idea what to expect). In Aby I'm looking to have fun. On Monk I solo'd Khalimari a few times so I am positive I can on Dnc, I even accidentally solo'd Chasmic Hornet when working on Wind trial the other day. Khalmari drops a few things I want, but there's SO many NM's in Aby I need things from... and friends need things.
Gear as follows:
Slot : TP / WS / Waltz
Main: Yataghan (DMG+7 Resist Stun+4)
Sub Yataghan (DMG+5 Resist Stun+3)
Ammo: Charis Feather
Head: Charis+1 / O.Hat / Etoile Tiara

Ear1: Brutal
Ear2: Bushi(parry skill, I guess)
Body: Rapparee Harness / Alcide's Harness / Dancer's Casque
Hands: Aurore Gloves / Charis+1 / Ample Gloves
Ring1: Heed Ring / Heed Ring / Airy Ring
Ring2: Raja's Ring / Raja's Ring / Loyalty Ring
Back: Atheling Mantle / Atheling Mantle / Aisance Mantle (Blue Mantle optional for TPing)
Waist: Bullwhip Belt / Light or Breeze Belt / Aristo Belt
Legs: Charis+1 / Tumbler Trunks / Tumbler Trunks
Feet: Ballerines / Ballerines / Heroic Boots (I have Areion's but ran out of macro room >.<, not sure if something else is expendable?)
I am currently working(against my desires) on an Agi/Eva Dakani. I really want an Auric Dagger but, no one ever wants to do that lol. I'm considering working on another Gorget, maybe 2? for Pyrrhic and DE. I know I need to someday get Suppa but... again, people. Gloves, Ocelot I know, but fat chance getting those soon. I am considering blowing up 6 Brews on Shin during Blunt(for my Monk) and praying for some Blue !! goodness but it feels silly to do it alone >.<
Aside that I have no idea what to do with what anymore aside +2's which unless they are soloable interest me little. Right now my play time makes it VERY difficult to find reliable people to try and "team up" on them. Unless I can solo a popset for things... again, main intent of this lengthy post!

The Solo Dnc, in and out of Aby~Follow

What can you solo? Well, that depends on you. You should be able to handle any given head / legs / feet +1 seal mob; if you can't take one mob that drops a certain seal, you can prolly take one of the other two. Get that evasion dagger, but skip Auric - it's not aging well and will continue to fall behind as we approach 95/99.
Don't go crazy brewing Shin: the torque, dagger, and belt are drops people get when they want bodies and helms; they usually get thrown away by groups that are serious Shin fighters and shouldn't be too hard to pick up free if you can pull your weight in the group.
Charb should be an easy solo, if the drop a bit dated. Khalimari manageable - keep at him! Some people solo ironclads on DNC and those drop +2 items. Normal sea mobs should be easy, but none of the actual jailers are things you want to fight straight up. Most missions should be simple jokes.

Thanks for the reply! Honestly, I need a ton of seals more than anything. I have -0- +1 Bodies of my 9 current 90's. That is terrible >.< Still need a bunch of head seals for blm, sam, nin, blu, sch, and drg, legs for blm and drg, and feet for blm and drg.

you can also easily get a pair of crit dmg + daggers with the dom ops points (from grauberg iirc) pretty sure they do more for you than just the increased base dmg ones you have atm.
gold chest farming is great on dnc as well (for afv3 feet, KI and augmented items) AE rocks (and there's some great gear/atmas you cna get for it (gales is easy to solo! so no reason not to have that)

I soloed the seals for pretty much all of my +1 charis gear, except body, I got in with a LS group going after orthrus for that. I've also soloed quite a few other +1 seals for other jobs on it. Khalamari is a joke, you could probably claim it, AFK for 5 mins and come back with your charis necklace. Ovni is a fun solo, and drops items for charis feet +2. Usurper is fun/easy for ocelot trousers. Rhuminator is easy for +2 feet items. Basically, look up a piece of gear that you want on wiki, see what drops it, and check out what other people have to say about solo/low-man attempts on the discussion tab and judge whether you can handle it or not.

Great advice. If people talk about a NIN or THF being able to solo, DNC can too. I'd be more worried if the majority talks about SMN, BST, RDM, or BLM solo, but hey, more fun to try and die than not try at all. Also keep in mind that some of those testimonies may have been written at a lower level cap, or by people with inferior gear, so even if people talk about a tough solo or a duo you might still stand a chance.

Can't really speak for all of those seals, but I know you can solo Funereal Apkallu(And probably Nonno) for Blm legs, and Manhora for Drg legs(And probably the colibri).
It's pretty much impossible for funeral to do any real amount of damage to you. Nonno kinda sucks though, but I'm sure it's possible(I just did that on bst so I could afk). Manhora's silence aura can be annoying, but he shouldn't be able to hit you often.
Biggest problem with all this seal stuff is that you will most likely not get many drops at all. You can have 7 spell triggers(One of which most likely won't land) or TH2(3 with Atma of Dread I guess, waste of atma though). It is still worth a shot though, if there is no other option or if you just want some excitement. Kills will most likely be pretty slow, and that is definitely going to annoy any groups that might show up.
That might not end up being an issue, but it's something to keep in mind. As fun as it might be to kill these things solo, you may be making others waste a lot of their time while you chip away at the NM.
For the JSE
War Neck: Can solo I'm sure, just don't expect it to drop(It doesn't exist)
Dnc Neck: Can solo of course, this drop wasn't so bad for me at least.
Nin: Can solo neck from Gangly Gean, but it's just not a fun fight. You can't stun his Ga's and even with an OK MDT set they're going to hit you for a good bit. I don't think Karkadann(sp) for the back is possible.
Mnk: Tantra necklace drops from Cuelebre I think, and I can't see this being a possible solo for Dnc.
Blm: Bakka might be possible, though Amnesia might really screw things over.
Blu: Nahn should be pretty damn easy solo for Dnc.
Sch: Guimave should also be possible, just, never up for more then a few seconds.
Drg: Chasmic Hornet shouldn't be bad at all. Frenzy Pollen's Hundred fists is not going to connect with you much, just have to watch out for his final sting.
Balaur, Khalamari, and Gangly Gean are the only one's I've personally killed solo(I did most things on bst before I had Dnc, cause I love afking), so that's why there's a whole lot of "mights" and "maybes." Best way, with exp meaning absolutely nothing now, is to go out and try these things, see what went wrong and how you can improve on it.

This used to be pretty fun.
I've soloed WAR, DNC, NIN, BLM, and DRG level 80 armors. They're all possible and fairly easy. If you're going for them, you will want to Blue Proc (claim during Piercing, so 7-14) and deagro them at a conflux if the weakness isn't Dagger. I typically get about a 25~30% drop rate with Blue Proc, so you may be killing for a while. If you bring TH2 along, the 30% drop rate become something like 70%
Balaur can use Chaos Breath and get Dread Spikes, so you'll want to TP on something else and WS him while he has those up. I typically pull him to the funguars. It's a bit of a hike, but all the other monsters near there have some commonly used TP move that can royally screw you.

Huge thanks to the replies!! I had some awesome fun last night on Dnc that really made me appreciate the job. After getting ROFLstomped by Ovni I was quite discouraged but the free warp gave me the chance to spend merits I forgot I had and get Fan Dance.

Went back, stomped on Ovni a few times for a friend(no belt of course, but did get him Abyssite!)
Chasmic Hornet is cake, took him and 2 adds no problem. Never seen Frenzy Pollen though so that will be a sight.
I got my Neck! Yay for teaming up with people doing trials who proc'd Blue!! :D I also snagged Twilight Belt so that was a nice perk too.
Last night I tanked Pascerpot and Vunker Bunny NM. BLM friend just tried to proc then waited so it was pseudo-solo. Pascer is nasty, but I should probably macro in a stun lol.
My proudest moment is when they zoned in, I had them wait at entrance and went to poke Varney. Surprisingly, I killed him! :D :D Only Drk legs dropped but the fact I 100% solo'd him really made my night :3
I will for sure be testing myself on the above lists!

I've been soloing fistule for my war and dnc head +2's currently 5/6 war and 4/6 dnc, pretty easy fight with fan dance and counterstance, of course the minute I go 5/6 I have 2 kills with no +2 drops :/ only time I haven't seen a +2 item drop too

Abyssea Empy weapon NMs drop +2 items too, and often people hunting particular weapons are all done with the +2 items that drop from their particular mob. Might be worth helping them out and getting yourself some +2 items. You can likely farm pop sets on DNC too, and then pop the NM and claim a particular +2 item for your pop (while giving others the empy upgrade items). I got like 14 Cards of Wieldance just helping a buddy on his Dragua Fangs for one night, got PUP COR and part of my NIN hands done...

I find soloing Limbus zones pretty fun, and you can make decent enough money bazaaring Ancient Beastcoins.

With the notable exception of the bottom floor King Behemoth in Kings Apollyon, you should be able to solo all the old Apollyon zones (and Omega) if you want to.

I recently finished my hands +2 by soloing Ironclad Executioner about 13 times in Aby Vunkerl, now he was a good scrap cos he seemed to either stun or amnesia me every other attack, i was outclaimed by one DNC once and he took it to the bridge (bad move as you want to tank it with your back to a wall cos of a throw back move) and anyway this DNC got raped within 30 secs.
This DNC 2hrd and used all his temps... he maybe at best took 5% off Ironclad, so a word of warning, if you leveled up in Aby and dont know how to solo on DNC then dont try it... however if you are a DNC main then give it a go, he aint easy at 90 but his definately do-able as i have proved multiple times.
Atmas i think used were RR, sanguine scythe? impregnable tower?
I know i used RR, and 90% sure i used the HP one impregnable tower, the other atma i used is the one that gives regain and regen... (sanguine scythe?) so i could spam evisceration when i could and had the trickle of regen...
Last thing... and very important... dont bother going /nin as your shadows will NOT last 10 secs, i went /war for the double attack... /SAM might be worth a try too, just dont bother with /nin.
At 95 every other DNC should be able to do this NM, at 90 i think most of us who are used to soloing should be ok... just do not under estimate him, he is not a cake solo.
Fight takes about 15 mins typically.

Ovni is also a joke and was at 85 too... when i was soloing him long ago he only dropped the bullwhip of any note... i cant believe he drops +2 now, he is a complete joke to solo.
I recently finished my hands +2 by soloing Ironclad Executioner about 13 times in Aby Vunkerl, now he was a good scrap cos he seemed to either stun or amnesia me every other attack, i was outclaimed by one DNC once and he took it to the bridge (bad move as you want to tank it with your back to a wall cos of a throw back move) and anyway this DNC got raped within 30 secs.
This DNC 2hrd and used all his temps... he maybe at best took 5% off Ironclad, so a word of warning, if you leveled up in Aby and dont know how to solo on DNC then dont try it... however if you are a DNC main then give it a go, he aint easy at 90 but his definately do-able as i have proved multiple times.
Atmas i think used were RR, sanguine scythe? impregnable tower?
I know i used RR, and 90% sure i used the HP one impregnable tower, the other atma i used is the one that gives regain and regen... (sanguine scythe?) so i could spam evisceration when i could and had the trickle of regen...
Last thing... and very important... dont bother going /nin as your shadows will NOT last 10 secs, i went /war for the double attack... /SAM might be worth a try too, just dont bother with /nin.
At 95 every other DNC should be able to do this NM, at 90 i think most of us who are used to soloing should be ok... just do not under estimate him, he is not a cake solo.
Fight takes about 15 mins typically.

A word regarding +2s. Rather than go through the rather unrewarding and often difficult task of soloing +2 NMs with no yellow proc, I get people to do the work for me; it's much more profitable. Let me explain.
As you may or may not be aware, alternating between different types of mobs builds cruor chains in much the same way as killing successive mobs gives XP chains. Since it requires you to not be asleep at the wheel, building a good cruor chain in a party can be difficult, but it's a breeze solo; if you get into a position where you HAVE to kill two of the same, you can just call for help to avoid breaking the chain. DNC is particularly good for this, for reasons that should be obvious.
The thing is, some key NMs for your +2 gear are very popular targets for Empyrean weapons, so people will always be willing to take a pop set off your hands for virtually any number of the drops you might want, short the Emp weapon upgrades themselves. It's been very productive for me to go to Misareaux, build up max Amber lights with Aeolian edge, and then work on a cruor chain, popping gold pyxides for particular pop key items, not to mention some cash from augmented gear.
The main targets with Misareaux are Molted Peiste Skin and Doffed Poroggo Hat; these are KIs for popular Empyrean NMs (Sobek (Katana/Sword) and Cirein-Croin (Masamune/Caladbolg), respectively), and the actual mobs that drop them are heavily-camped timed spawns. Once I get either, I go farm up the rest of the pop KIs via popped NMs (all trivial solos), find somebody from one of the three groups with yellow procs that will be camping Sobek/C-C at any given time, and offer the pop set in exchange for some (generally 2; I'm not greedy) +2 items that drop with yellow proccing. I've been turned down once out of...eight sets so far, I think?
The best part is that I've been working on a cruor chain and getting augmented items to sell, too. So after a given two-hour Abyssea run (and make no mistake, this strategy DOES eat a lot of time and wouldn't be as viable if I didn't have 500 stones), I'm up whatever +2 I traded popsets for as well as 50-70k cruor and somewhere in the neighborhood of 50k gil. It's glorious.
