I have not played Ffxi for at least 5 years... I miss PUP ..Follow

I left FFXI because a ex was playing WOW... played it for a year or two and then started playing Rift.. I love the game but i feel I am not satisfied with the game.. I really miss a proper pet class.

I am not sure how hard it will be to start all over...

Should i jump in or just wait till FF14 2.0 and hope for a pet class..

I hear you on the pet classes in rift... lordy. It felt so weird playing a pet job that looked like it had more control on paper than pup, but in practice had less by a wide margin. It doesn't help that none of their pet jobs are remotely balanced, though.


It's getting better, though. Slowly.

Contrary to popular belief, starting up PUP doesn't have to cost you an arm and a leg. True there are attachments that you are going to keep working at til you get them, but you don't have to have every attachment when you job-change to PUP lvl 1. In this day and age of FFXI, you should be able to easily grab the NPC-sold attachments easily after lvling up your planned two sub-jobs(though i would just go ahead and get those and any other subs to lvl 49.)

As for ppl giving PUP players a hard time, screw those ppl. Seriously, just let them make their snide remarks and don't give them a second thought. At this point of the game PUP is just as good if not better than many jobs. Only reason ppl still poke at the job is because they need something to mock to make themselves feel better; which is just sad beyond words when you think about it. Only area PUP suffers at is getting procs in Abyssea and that is not a PUP specific problem.

In any event, focus on learning the flow of the job once you get it going and everything else will sort itself.
